The Kuratsa is one of the most popular traditional courtship dances of the Philippines, particularly in the Visayas region such as Samar and Leyte. It is usually performed during weddings, fiestas, and special gatherings.

The dance is characterized by its lively steps and playful movements, where the male dancer energetically pursues the female, who responds with grace, charm, and modesty. Often accompanied by cheerful music, the Kuratsa symbolizes love, courtship, and the joyful spirit of Filipino culture.

More than entertainment, the Kuratsa serves as a reminder of our rich heritage and the values of respect, admiration, and festivity that bind communities together.

Representing Christ the King College of Calbayog City, Inc. - Integrated Basic Education Department (Junior High School Unit) are Mr. Vince Francis Leor D. Elizalde of Grade 7 St. Agnes and Ms. Jie Alliyah Durmiendo of Grade 10 St. Francis.
