𝐈𝐍 𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐌: 𝐋𝐘𝐑𝐀 𝐉𝐄𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐀𝐃𝐎 🕊️

The entire Bachelor of Science in Community Development (BSCD) family is cloaked in deep sorrow today as we mourn the untimely passing of one of our brightest lights, Lyra Jee Anotado.

Lyra was more than just a BSCD 2A student; she was the heartbeat of her class. As a classroom president, she didn’t just lead—she served. Her classmates consistently attest to her incredibly selfless nature, always keeping in mind the needs of others and working tirelessly to keep her block united, motivated, and supported.

The Community Organizers for Rural Development Society (CORDS) extends our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to Lyra’s family, friends, and her BSCD 2A classmates.

We are shattered by this loss, but we are profoundly grateful for the time we shared with her. Lyra’s legacy of selflessness, leadership, and active service will forever remain in the hearts of the BSCD community.

Rest in peace and power, Lyra. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

𝑩𝑺𝑪𝑫 𝑨𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: 𝑳𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝑰𝑰 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅

We are proud to announce a collective milestone achieved. The Bachelor of Science in Community Development (BSCD) of Northwest Samar State University has officially been awarded Level III Accredited status by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). This milestone follows a rigorous 3rd survey conducted on December 3-5, 2025.

The Community Organizers for Rural Development Society (CORDS) successfully conducted its Half-Day Capability Building at the Quality Assurance Room today, August 21, 2025, together with the newly elected officers for Academic Year 2025–2026.

The session began with a cultural processing/debriefing, where officers and faculty members openly expressed their thoughts and reflections. This was followed by insightful discussions: EnP. Rosalina L. Tarrayo, MRD, presented on “How to Conduct a Meeting and Prepare Minutes”, while Mr. Arniel Disbaro, MRD, shared valuable inputs on “Developing an Effective Proposal.”

This activity served as an avenue to strengthen the skills and knowledge of the officers as they begin their term of service. Truly, CORDS remains steadfast in its commitment to leadership, excellence, and community service.

What makes this milestone even more special is that CORDS is the FIRST organization in the CCJS Department to achieve partial accreditation! 🎉
