The Bishop of the Diocese of San Pablo, Most Rev. Pedro N. Bantigue, D. D. in his desire and concern for the people and in order to meet the needs of the growing population of the town, established a learning institution both for the elementary and secondary education. The school started with two hundred and twenty seven students under the supervision of A. R. sisters. From the time of its establi
shment, enrollment gradually increased from two hundred twenty seven to one thousand five hundred sixty five. In 1978, the supervision and control transferred to the lay members of the administration. For 53 years, Liceo de Calauan managed to sail along. Despite hardship, tribulation, trials criticism and humiliations, the school never fathered. Like a cluster of plant bamboos being blown by the wind. She took all the challenges but remain stood still. She continued her unlimited services to Christianity and to the community as well. She has produced many successful graduates in both elementary and high school. She has been given numerous citations for her performance in competition and other activities, with the spiritual guidance of director and with the effort exerted by the competent teachers and the unending and uniting support of the concerned parents and community; the school has extended numerous services to the needs of the citizenry.
