This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, courage, and contributions of LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities. We envision a society where every person is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness—regardless of s*x, gender identity, gender expression, or s*xual orientation.

True gender equality means creating spaces where everyone can participate, thrive, and be heard without fear of discrimination. It means ensuring that every individual has equal opportunities to live, work, lead, and succeed.

The Philippine Commission on Women reaffirms its commitment to advancing inclusivity, promoting human rights, and fostering a society where no one is left behind.

Our diversity is our strength. Together, let us build a nation where everyone is free to live authentically, safely, and with pride.

This June, as we observe 𝙈𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝, let's remember that men need support too just as much as others do! 💙✨

Too often, men face silent struggles—battling stress, anxiety, or depression quietly because society tells them to “tough it out” or “man up” and are expected to figure out their problems on their own. But in reality, strength lies in opening up, asking for help, and knowing it’s okay not to be okay. 🫂

This month, let’s break the stigma together. Reach out to the men in your life — fathers, brothers, friends, partners, colleagues and remind them they’re not alone. Encourage open conversations, provide accessible resources, and show support to promote their well-being! 🧠🎉

ℭ𝖗𝔢𝖆𝔱𝖎𝔫𝖌 𝖘𝔞𝖋𝔢𝖗 𝖘𝔭𝖆𝔠𝖊𝔰 𝔱𝖍𝔯𝖔𝔲𝖌𝔥 𝔞𝖜𝔞𝖗𝔢𝖓𝔢𝖘𝔰 𝔞𝖓𝔡 𝔞𝖈𝔱𝖎𝔬𝖓. ✨

The BISU Calape Campus - Gender and Development successfully conducted the Seminar on RA 11313 and Protection Against Gender-Based Harassment on May 7, 2026, at the Student Activity Center with the theme, “𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒌, 𝑨𝒄𝒕, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕: 𝑼𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒂𝒇𝒆 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒍𝒍.”

The activity was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Student Development Services and facilitated by the EQUITAS Organization, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a meaningful discussion on the importance of promoting respect, accountability, and protection against gender-based harassment within educational institutions and communities.

The seminar was made more impactful through the insightful discussion of the resource speaker, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐉𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐀. 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚, whose expertise and engaging presentation deepened the participants’ understanding on the Safe Spaces Act and the importance of fostering inclusive and secure environments for everyone.

The program also featured interactive activities, an engaging open forum, and trivia sessions that encouraged active participation and strengthened awareness among attendees.

Through initiatives like this, BISU Calape Campus continues to uphold its commitment to gender sensitivity, empowerment, and the promotion of safe spaces for all.

In line with the celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, the Bohol Island State University Gender and Development Office successfully held its Culmination Program, bringing together the university community in a meaningful tribute to gender equality and inclusivity.

The program featured a series of activities, including inspiring messages, cultural performances, and the awarding of winners for the various digital contests. These initiatives highlighted the creativity, talent, and advocacy of the BISU community in advancing the theme:
