Weekend Farming Program: Empowering Senior High School Students Through Work, Skills, and Educational Support

The Weekend Farming Program for Senior High School students is an initiative that aims to ease the financial burden of learners while equipping them with practical agricultural skills. Through this program, students are given the opportunity to work on weekends at Puputi Nature Farm, where they earn additional income while gaining valuable hands-on experience in modern farming practices.

Beyond providing financial assistance, the program prepares students for future employment opportunities by developing their technical competencies in agriculture. Participants also become potential beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES), further enhancing their work experience and employability.

Upon graduating from Senior High School and enrolling as college freshmen, participating students are automatically endorsed for the Tulong Dunong Program through the Coop-NATCCO Party-list, helping them continue their higher education with financial support.

In addition, graduates of the program are given priority for the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program through the endorsement of Larry B. Puputi, the Coop-NATCCO Party-list Focal Person for Apayao and the President/Administrator of Puputi Nature Farm and Puputi Technical Vocational Institute, Inc.

The participating students were officially endorsed through the joint support of Ma'am Cindy Marie P. Abadilla, the supportive School Head of Tawit National High School, and Rovein James M. Anteola, the school's Senior High School Focal Person and Work Immersion Coordinator. Their collective commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for learners made it possible for deserving students to become part of this program, ensuring that they receive not only financial assistance but also valuable work experience and opportunities for higher education.

The Weekend Farming Program reflects a strong commitment to empowering young people by combining livelihood opportunities, skills development, and educational assistance. It serves as a meaningful partnership among Puputi Nature Farm, Puputi Technical Vocational Institute, Inc., Coop-NATCCO Party-list, and Tawit National High School in helping students become financially resilient, career-ready, and better prepared to achieve their educational and professional goals.

Tawit National High School Sustains 100% NC II Passing Rate for 4th Consecutive Year

Tawit National High School (TNHS) has once again demonstrated its academic and technical prowess by achieving a remarkable 100% passing rate in the TESDA Agricultural Crops Production NC II Assessment for the fourth consecutive year. This consistent success, involving 36 successful candidates, is a direct result of the school's effective Joint Delivery Voucher Program (JDVP) and Work Immersion partnership with Puputi Nature Farms.

The assessment took place at the Veaveranda Nature Farm Training and Assessment Center in Marcela, Sta. Marcela, Apayao, on March 27-28, 2026. Under the expert mentorship of School President Sir Larry Puputi, the Grade 12 students gained essential agricultural competencies and hands-on experience during their practicum to meet rigorous national standards.

This achievement was made possible through the dedicated guidance of Mr. Rovein James M.
