Communication Arts Society of Letran Calamba

Students from 1BACOMM and 2BACOMM attended Gilded Legacies Year 2, Series 2: Rizal as a Writer, a lecture-workshop event organized by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) at the Museo ni Jose Rizal, Calamba on April 25, 2026.

Discussions on scriptwriting and the literary contributions of Dr. Jose Rizal were conducted with Mr. John Paul E. Abellera, Creative Content Head, Regal Entertainment, Inc., as the guest speaker.

In celebration of the Year of Philippine Diplomatic History and Diaspora, the event aimed to further deepen students' appreciation of Rizal's work as a writer and help them enhance their skills in storytelling as well as in expressing ideas, addressing social issues, and creating quality and relevant scripts for future academic outputs.

Rooted in Letran Calamba’s commitment to quality and transformative education, an OJT visit was conducted for BA Communication students Ms. Amira Franchesca C. Dela Torre and Ms. Stephanie Grace V. Simpao at the UST Manila Communications Bureau on April 8, 2026. The visit aimed to monitor students’ progress, assess performance, and ensure alignment with academic standards while strengthening collaboration between higher education institutions.

Mr. Bryan V. Bawit, OJT Moderator for BA Communications; Dr. Loriemel E. Ferrera, Dean of the School of Education, Arts, and Science and Technology; and Mr. Michael Denzel B. Asiseo, Co-OJT Moderator for Psychology, were welcomed by the Director of the Communications Bureau, Dr. Philippe Jose S. Hernandez.

The OJTs shared how their classroom learning translated into real-world practice as they engaged in various tasks across the Communications Bureau. They expressed enthusiasm and fulfillment in gaining hands-on experience, further developing their competence, confidence, and adaptability. Dr. Hernandez also commended the students for their professionalism and strong performance.

The visit included a guided tour of the bureau, enriching Letran Calamba's understanding of institutional communication operations. This meaningful engagement reflects the Colegio's unwavering dedication to producing competent, industry-ready graduates, as it continues to bridge academic excellence with real-world opportunities for its students.

| Bilang estudyante, ano ang masasabi o panawagan mo sa gitna ng sunud-sunod na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis dulot ng gerang agresyon ng US at Israel?

"Siguro for me as a student, na laging nagcocommute going to school, sana may gawing solusyon ang gobyerno natin kasi alam naman natin na ‘pag tumaas ang gas, tataas din ang mga, maraming possibilities, tataas din ang ating mga pamasahe, so parang bilang estudyante at parang tumutulong yung ating, ang tumutulong lang sa akin yung aking lola na dependent na lang sa kanyang mga pensions, malaking bawas na yun kasi imbis na mapupunta yung baon mo sa iba mo pang gagamitin, napupunta lang yung iba mong pera sa pamasahe.

Kaya kailangan magawan ng solusyon ng gobyerno yung pagtaas ng ating mga petrolyo, so parang dapat magawan talaga ng certain action like bigyan ng discount pa rin yung mga estudyante kasi nakakaawa din naman ang mga magulang dahil di naman nila pinupulot yung perang binibibigay nila sa amin, at hindi rin naman nagtatae or naglalabas ng magic yung mga magulang natin ng money, kasi alam ko, ang hirap ng buhay ngayon, dahil sunud-sunod talaga yung crisis natin, yun lamang po. "

With this, we deeply regret to inform everyone that the Episode 4 of Knight 103.9 FM, originally set to air tomorrow, will also be postponed and rescheduled to a later date.
