For far too longโtalks about su***de have been surrounded by misunderstandings, silence, and stigma. Changing the narrative means building a safe space wherein people are able to speak out about their problems, seek help without the fear of judgement and rejection, and be treated with compassion and understanding.
This September, also recognized as ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐
๐ ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐, let us shine through your darkest moments and help one another. Let this month give you a little reminder that reaching out for help is never a sign of weakness. Rather, it is more than strength; it encourages others to spread awareness that hope begins with knowing that someone is always there to willingly listen and stay. Let us recognize signs, encourage them with open conversations, and remind those who are struggling that it is never a burden to reach out. You deserve to be heard, cared for, and appreciated.
And to those who know someone who is strugglingโtake initiative and check in, remind them that they are not alone. Talk to someone you trust, seek professional support, or contact any of the crisis hotlines provided. The NCMH Crisis Hotline, HOPELINE, and In Touch: Crisis Line provide confidential support for individuals experiencing emotional distress and other mental-health concerns. Your presence may mean more than you know.
