Cost Accountant

Being a president’s scholar in college, I developed persistence, dedication and hard work. Maintaining a 1.75 average in an accountancy course is a very big challenge, and a challenge I whole heartedly accepted. I believe living with these values in college helped me improve myself a lot. Also during my college days, I experienced a lot of extra-curricular activities which developed my whole personality, groomed me to be a better leader, improved my confidence and enhanced my communication skills.

In 2006, right after I passed the CPA licensure examination, I decided to go back to Lyceum and teach. It was a short but very meaningful & worthwhile experience.

In Sep 2007, I was hired as Cost Accountant at Toyota Motor Philippines and am nearing my 7th year already. I was sent to Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Manufacturing & Engineering Office in Thailand last Feb 2012 for a 1 year inter-company training. That’s the most exciting part of my career so far- to have worked with different people from across the region.

Right now, I am working on the cost study of the full model change of one of our flagship model, the Innova. This is on top of the current cost management & improvement activities assigned to me.

LPU’s edge is it’s linkage with industrial partners. During our time, we were given seminars by Yazaki managers which are very relevant and up until now, I can apply in my work assignment. In addition to that, the facilities are better off than other colleges and location is quite strategic.

Being a pioneer graduate of Computer Engineering in LPU-L is indeed a memorable experience. The institution had honed my analytical and logical skills. It prepared me to solve engineering problems and use them in hardware and software applications. I have a lot of remarkable experiences during my stay as a student. I was then a cultural scholar considering that I am among the pioneer members of Alay Langit Theatre Artist (ALTA), for which I was an actor and a scriptwriter. In addition, I am part of the official campus paper named “eLIT” during that time. I was assigned as the literary editor. In addition, I was a member of School of Engineering and LIT Pep Squad. I am representing the college for scrabble competition and I’m taking places on it. I was among the founder of Association of Computer Engineers in Lyceum Institute of Technology (ACOELITE). I was elected as the Treasurer. The ACOELITE was tagged as among the most promising school-based organization during that time because of fund-raising efforts I spearheaded. For me, the institution provides me both intellectual and technical competencies. Most importantly, it contributed a lot in developing my leadership and soft skills. These learning experiences had helped me a lot after I graduated.

As for the milestones of my career, it would be of boast to say that I am successful. For me, authentic success is not measured on diplomas, recognitions and awards you might have. However, it is how you develop an intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and how God’s character is manifesting in you. After graduation, I joined Solutions People Innovation (SPi) for eight months in Quality Assurance Image Processing Department. For three years, I’d worked at Ibiden Philippines, Inc. (IPI) as Quality Assurance Statistical Process Control Engineer. I even took the job as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Coordinator. While working in IPI, I have taken my Masters in Public Administration (MPA) in Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila. Then, I joined LPU-L as faculty instructor in the College of Engineering. I took leave of absences for two years in giving way for my new master degree, considering that I was granted scholarship by DOST. Engineering Research for Development and Technology (ERDT) under DOST financed my master studies in De La Salle University. I was then a full scholar with stipend. My research publications and dissemination were even funded by them.

I graduated 2013 Masters of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering (MScECE) major in Microelectronics in DLSU last September 7, 2013. While taking my masters, I took the position as OIC-Dean/Education Coordinator in ACLC College San Pablo and I joined again LPU-L. I was awarded as Top Performing Faculty Member in ACLC College San Pablo. In LPU-L, I was given the position Research Coordinator for the College of Engineering. I was awarded as Top 10 Most Outstanding Professors in LPU-L and I was given special citation award for my research endeavours. Considering that I was able to present my research papers in the local and international scenes. I even spearheaded research colloquiums and multiple research publications for each engineering programs. Most importantly, I was able to mentor and delegate engineering students to present papers in the international conference. I was elected as an IEEE Philippines Section Committee Chair. Also, I take part as IEEE Technical Program Committee Member and Reviewer, for which I review and comments international papers for possible publication. Currently, I am a full time faculty instructor in LPU-L and part time assistant professor in DLSU. In addition, I was admitted to PhD in ECE in DLSU and I am applying for DLSU scholarship to finance my doctorate degree. I have presented a lot of papers in the local and international scenes. I will be presenting another two papers this coming October in Korea. Most importantly, I am a cell leader and a youth pastor. I am one of the advisers of Reflectors in LPU-L.

The edge of LPU which helped me to become who I am right now is probably the love of God. It might seem unpopular, but for me it brings you to the will of God. The Lord plans for us to prosper and not to harm us. We simply have to trust in Him and acknowledge His presence and power in whatever we intend to do, surely He will bless us and it will bring us eternal success. The life verse is Psalm 37:4 “Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
