Filipinos, aided by US Army engineers, rebuild Santa Cruz bridge in Manila. It suffered extensive destruction during the futile Japanese attempt to prevent liberation of the city. The Filipinos are clearing streets, repairing buildings and reopening stores and restaurants. ποΈ

First Sergeant, Edward Corr (25th Division, 3rd Battalion, 161st regiment) πΊπΈ
He landed in Lingayen Gulf and fought all the way to Balete Pass (now Dalton Pass). He was with General Dalton the day before he was killed by a Japanese sniper. He loved the Philippine people and the scouts that he fought with. π€

This aerial photograph taken at 400 feet shows the complete destruction wrought upon Davao City. The County Court House was gutted with bomb damage, and no building of any size was left untouched by aerial bombings in this area. π₯
