Continuing our mission to 𝑐𝑎𝑟𝑒, 𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑡, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑑, the Laguna College of Business and Arts proudly present 𝐋𝐂𝐁𝐀 𝐊𝐀𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝑃𝑠𝑦𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝐹𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝐴𝑖𝑑 (𝑃𝐹𝐴) 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠, happening on November 8, 2025 (Saturday) from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Multipurpose Hall, College Building.

This training, facilitated by LCBA - Master of Science in Psychology 2nd Year students under the course Psychology of Disaster Response, will equip our student leaders with the knowledge and skills to provide support in times of psychological crisis through the principles of 𝙇𝑶𝙊𝑲, 𝙇𝑰𝙎𝑻𝙀𝑵, 𝙖𝒏𝙙 𝙇𝑰𝙉𝑲.

In collaboration with the Guidance and Counseling Center, LCBA- Office of the Student Affairs and Services, LCBA-Basic Education Department, School of College Studies, and the School of Graduate Studies, this initiative is aligned with the World Health Organization (WHO) theme: “𝐴𝑐𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑆𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠 – 𝑀𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝑖𝑛 𝐶𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑝ℎ𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐸𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠.”

The 𝗟𝗖𝗕𝗔 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 was a vital day dedicated to open dialogue and community held on October 10.

Ngayong araw ang ika-53 taong komemorasyon ng Batas Militar, isang madilim na kabanata ng ating kasaysayan kung saan libo-libong Pilipino ang naging biktima ng pasismo at pang-aabuso. Hindi malilimutan ang tinatayang 70,000 na iligal na inaresto, ang 34,000 na labis na pinahirapan sa kamay ng militar, at ang 3,200 na walang awang pinaslang matapos danasin ang samu’t saring pahirap.

Ang Martial Law ay hindi lamang mga bilang sa kasaysayan—ito ay gabi ng mga pinto na binuksan ng walang katok, mga pamilya na nagising na wala na ang kanilang mahal sa buhay, mga silid na naging piitan ng mga tinig na nagsabing “tama na.” Isa itong bangungot ng bayan kung saan ang takot ang naging batas, at ang karahasan ang naging wika ng kapangyarihan.

Ngunit higit pa sa nakaraan, ang anino ng diktadura ay buhay na buhay pa rin sa kasalukuyan. Nakikita natin ito sa talamak na katiwalian—lalo na sa mga proyektong gaya ng flood control, na dapat sana’y nagliligtas ng buhay ngunit ginawang daluyan ng pandarambong. Habang ang taumbayan ay paulit-ulit na binabaha, ang mga buwaya sa gobyerno ay patuloy na lumalangoy sa kinurakot na pondo. Ito ang mukha ng bulok na sistema, isang sistemang kumikitil ng pag-asa at naglalagay sa mamamayan sa peligro.
Kaya’t sa araw na ito, hindi lamang pag-alaala ang ating tungkulin kundi paniningil! Ang ating galit ay hindi basta-basta, ito ay makatarungan. At ang galit na ito ay dapat ituon hindi lamang sa iilang tao kundi sa mismong sistemang nagluwal at patuloy na nagtataguyod ng pang-aabuso at katiwalian.

Sa Luneta man, sa EDSA, o sa bawat sulok ng ating bansa, dadaluyong ang tinig ng mamamayan: NEVER AGAIN, NEVER FORGET! NEVER AGAIN TO MARTIAL LAW!

At sa diwa ng paniningil at pagbabago, hamon ito ang bawat kapwa mag-aaral, kapwa Pilipino na makiisa sa laban at panawagan tungo sa malinis na gobyerno at tunay na pagbabago.

Bilang estudyante, naniniwala kami na ang pinakamabisang sandata laban sa pagkalimot at pang-aabuso ay edukasyon. Kaya’t kaisa kami sa pagsusulong ng mga konkretong hakbang:

- Pag-oorganisa ng forums, talakayan, at educational campaigns upang muling buhayin ang diwa ng kasaysayan at kritikal na kamalayan ng kabataan.

- Pagtatag ng mga research initiatives at publication drives na naglalayong ilantad ang mga isyu ng katiwalian at panlipunang inhustisya.

- Pakikipag-ugnayan sa iba’t ibang sektor ng lipunan—mga g**o, estudyante, at komunidad—upang palakasin ang sama-samang pag-aaral at pagtindig laban sa kasinungalingan at katiwalian.

Kasabay nito, nakikiisa rin ang Supreme Student Council- LCBA sa bawat sigaw ng mamamayang Pilipino. Sama-sama tayong lalaban sa pamamagitan ng kaalaman, sama-sama tayong maniningil gamit ang katotohanan, at sama-sama nating isusulong ang katarungan at kalayaan ng bayan!
