RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT | Xavier School Nuvali proudly congratulates its students for successfully presenting their research outputs at the 6th National Research Conference, 10th SHS Balagdiwa and 11th Kamalayan Research Conference organized by the University of the East Manila - Basic Education Department.

The group of Sean David D. Benzon, Edgar Alejandre Y. Malabanan, Edward Cedric T. Ng, Miguel Adrian P. Ricohermoso, and Dionysius Seancarlo K. Scherf explored the correlation of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the members of a youth-led first aid organization. This study underscores the significance of engaging young people in disaster preparedness and calls for their increased engagement in DRR.

Meanwhile, Jade Ericka Joy Alde, Roan Klaire N. Napao, Sherylle Ann D. Replan, Germaine Pearl M. Orcana, and Bea Danika S. Restar investigated the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the public safety officers, or barangay tanods, of an urban barangay in a first class component city in Laguna. Findings of the study revealed gaps in the aforementioned fire safety domains and suggests targeted interventions to empower barangay tanods as first responders in fire incidents.

Both groups were mentored by Mr. Christoper Jan B. Landicho, Science Department faculty member.
