Special Seminar: Self-Leadership, Discernment, & Emergent Leadership
Students, SINAG Camp 2026 participants, and graduating students gathered for a special seminar led by Ms. Jennifer Silao, Dean of College, to learn about the importance of self-leadership, discernment, and emergent leadership.
The seminar emphasized that leadership starts with yourself. Before leading others, you must first learn how to influence your own habits, manage your emotions, and be accountable for your actions.
โHindi lahat dapat alam mo para maging leader. It's okay to admit that you don't have all the answers.โ โ Ma'am Jen
Participants were reminded that humility is an essential part of leadership. Admitting that you still have room to grow allows you to learn from others, make better decisions, and become a more effective leader. Respect is not automatically given because of a title or position. It is earned through character, accountability, and the way you treat the people around you.
At the end of the day, leadership begins with how you lead yourself. The habits you build, the choices you make, and the values you live by all shape the kind of leader you become.

We learned. We connected. We took action.
Day 2 of SINAG Camp 2026 challenged us to turn leadership lessons into meaningful action.
The day began with the Holy Mass and a special blessing from Fr. Jake Lopez, SDB, reminding us that leadership is ultimately rooted in faith and service.
Through Session 3, Ms. Gladelor Acosta discussed how communication and connection strengthen teams and shape effective leadership. In Session 4, Fr. Jeffrey Mangubat, SDB, emphasized that true leadership is measured not by recognition or authority, but by initiative, integrity, and the ability to inspire others to lead.
Most importantly, the participants transformed their learnings into action through the Blueprint of Service, proving that leadership goes beyond ideas and plans. It is lived out through concrete acts of service and purpose.
The day ended with moments of joy, friendship, and fellowship during the swimming activity, strengthening the connections that make every team stronger.
Day 2 reminded us that leadership is not just about knowing what is right. It is about having the courage to put it into practice.

We listened. We reflected. We responded.
Day 1 of SINAG Camp 2026 marked the beginning of a journey rooted in servant leadership, self-awareness, and discernment.
Through Session 1, led by Mr. Kristy Esteban, participants were reminded that true leadership begins with a servant heart. In Session 2, Mr. Mark Garcia challenged everyone to grow in self-leadership, discernment, and wise decision-making.
From creating flags and chants to engaging in meaningful discussions and reflections, every activity became an opportunity to grow as leaders and as a community.
The day continued with shared moments of service while preparing dinner and concluded with a Rosary night, grounding everyone in faith and reminding us that leadership is not only about what we do, but also about who we are becoming.
Day 1 reminded us that before we can lead others, we must first learn to listen, reflect, and respond to God's call.

Session 4: Planning, Ex*****on, and Leadership In Action
At the start of the session, Fr. JM asked the participants:
โWhat kind of leader do people become after encountering you?โ
The session reminded everyone that leadership is more than just making plans and organizing events. Hindi sapat na maganda lang ang plano or ginagawa lang for recognition or legacy. True leadership should always be grounded in values, purpose, and service.
โNakakatakot kapag values niya ay taliwas sa kabutihan at katotohanan.โ
Leadership is shown through initiative, accountability, service, and integrity. Hindi ito tungkol sa power, popularity, control, o recognition.
โAng totoong lider, kahit walang nakakakita, kumikilos. The best legacy you can leave is to make them leaders as well.โ โ Fr. JM
As Bosconians, we are called to lead with both competence and character, even when no one is watching.

Session 3: Communication and Team Leadership
During Session 3, Ms. Glad discussed the six common leadership styles and how each one communicates differently, from transformational and participative leadership to transactional, delegative, authoritative, and servant leadership.
The session reminded the participants that leadership style affects not only communication, but also how leaders respond to challenges, handle change, and care for their teamโs wellbeing.
To lead effectively, leaders must also learn to know their members personally because connection builds trust, and trust strengthens teamwork.
โEach leadership style communicates differently, but all of them depend on one essential factor: CONNECTION.โ โ Ms. Glad
