In a united effort to protect and preserve the environment, the Calamba City Higher Education Institutions Association (CCHEIA), in collaboration with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO)–Calamba, successfully conducted the Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026. This meaningful initiative brought together students, faculty, and community partners in a shared commitment to safeguarding our natural resources for future generations.
The activity was made even more impactful through the strong support of the City Government of Calamba, led by City Mayor Roseller H. Rizal and City Vice Mayor Angelito S. Lazaro Jr., whose leadership and commitment to environmental sustainability greatly contributed to the success of this undertaking.
Participating higher education institutions in the City of Calamba included:
City College of Calamba; National University–Laguna; PHINMA–Rizal College of Laguna; Saint Benilde International School (Calamba), Inc.; Saints John and Paul Educational Foundation Inc.; University of Perpetual Help System–DALTA; Don Bosco College, Inc.; San Sebastian College Recoletos–Canlubang; Lyceum of the Philippines University–Laguna; Laguna College of Business and Arts; STI College Calamba; and Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba.
The activity covered key river areas across the city, specifically:
• Between Barangay I (Crossing) & Real
• Between San Cristobal & Paciano Rizal
• Between Barangay II (Tibag) & Parian
• Between Bañadero & Barangay IV
• Between Barangay San Juan & Barangay Looc
This collective endeavor was further strengthened by the invaluable support of partner government agencies and organizations, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)–CALABARZON, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Cultural Affairs, Tourism and Sports Development Department, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Calamba, Calamba City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division, Philippine National Police–Calamba, Public Order and Safety Office (POSO)–Calamba, Information, Investment Promotions and Employment Services Office (IIPESO), and the Calamba City Health Services Department.
More than a clean-up drive, this initiative reflects the power of collaboration and shared responsibility in promoting environmental awareness, civic engagement, and sustainable practices. Together, we take a step forward in nurturing a cleaner, safer, and greener Calamba—because caring for our environment today secures a brighter future for the youth of tomorrow.🌿💧

🌊Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026🌊
“Kalinga sa Kalikasan, Kinabukasan ng Kabataan”
Sa darating na Abril 15, 2026, sama-sama tayong kumilos bilang isang komunidad para sa iisang layunin—ang pangalagaan, protektahan, at ibalik ang sigla ng ating kalikasan. Bawat basurang ating mapupulot ay hakbang tungo sa mas malinis na ilog, mas ligtas na kapaligiran, at mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa susunod na henerasyon.
Higit pa ito sa isang clean-up drive—ito ay isang pagkilos ng pagkakaisa, malasakit, at pananagutan. Sa tulong ng iba’t ibang institusyon at organisasyon, pinapakita natin na ang pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa sama-samang pagkilos.
Ang gawaing ito ay pinangungunahan ng CCHEIA at CENRO-Calamba.
Makibahagi. Magmalasakit. Maging bahagi ng pagbabago.

Sa darating na April 15, 2026, sama-sama nating patutunayan na ang simpleng pagkilos ay may malaking epekto! Makilahok sa Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026 na pinangungunahan ng Calamba City Higher Education Institutions Association (CCHEIA) katuwang ang City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Calamba.
Hindi lang ito paglilinis ng ilog—ito ay pagkilos para sa mas malinis na kapaligiran, mas ligtas na komunidad, at mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa kabataan. 🌏✨
Halina’t maging bahagi ng pagbabago! Dahil ang bawat patak ng malasakit, bumubuo ng agos tungo sa isang mas maayos na bukas. 💙

The CCHEIA successfully convened today, March 19, 2026, at Saint Benilde International School (Calamba), Inc. for a productive and collaborative meeting focused on the upcoming Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026.
During the session, CCHEIA officers engaged in comprehensive discussions and strategic planning to ensure the effective implementation of the initiative. Key matters addressed included the finalization of the activity schedule, establishment of proper waste management protocols, and clear guidelines for documentation requirements. Emphasis was also placed on ensuring adequate faculty supervision, as well as the strict observance of health and safety measures, including the completion of necessary waivers to safeguard all participants.
In addition, plans for the Tree-Growing Activity were thoroughly discussed as part of CCHEIA’s continued commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement.
The meeting also highlighted the discussion of the Calamba MSME Summit 2026, with the participation of personnel from the City Government of Calamba, further strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and the local government in advancing community development initiatives.
This meeting reflects the collective dedication of CCHEIA member institutions in promoting environmental responsibility, fostering collaboration, and creating meaningful impact within the community. Together, we move forward in our shared mission to protect and preserve our natural resources for future generations.

The Planning Meeting for the Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026 was successfully held today, March 03, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Board Room of the City College of Calamba (CCC).
This collaborative initiative between the Calamba City Higher Education Institutions Association (CCHEIA) and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office – Calamba (CENRO–Calamba) brought together key stakeholders committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable community action.
In attendance were the CCHEIA Officers and Members of the Board of Directors from:
• City College of Calamba
• National University – Laguna
• Laguna College of Business and Arts
• PHINMA – Rizal College of Laguna
• Saint Benilde International School (Calamba), Inc.
• University of Perpetual Help System – DALTA
• Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba
Representatives from the City Government of Calamba also participated, including:
• Philippine National Police (PNP) – Calamba
• Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Calamba
• Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) – Calamba
Likewise, partner barangays were present:
• Barangay I
• Barangay IV
• Barangay Parian
• Barangay Bañadero
The meeting focused on strategic coordination, safety measures, logistics planning, and unified action toward a cleaner and more sustainable Calamba. Through strengthened partnership among academic institutions, local government offices, and barangay leaders, this initiative reinforces our shared responsibility in protecting and preserving our waterways for future generations.

The Officers and Members of the Board of Directors of the Calamba City Higher Education Institutions Association (CCHEIA) conducted a courtesy visit today, February 12, 2026, to the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Calamba. The visit was led by Dr. Ronald A. Gonzales, CCHEIA President, where CCHEIA discussed its environmental initiative with Mr. Joseph Arlan O. Llorente, CENR Officer, together with the CENRO administrators.
The meeting centered on the coordination and planning of the upcoming Citywide River Clean-Up Activity 2026, further strengthening the partnership between academic institutions and the local government in promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable community engagement.
This collaboration marks another significant step toward collective action in protecting and preserving the natural resources of Calamba City. Stay tuned for more updates on this meaningful environmental initiative.

The CCHEIA officers convened today, February 05, 2026, at Laguna College of Business and Arts for a productive and meaningful meeting. The agenda focused on a comprehensive review of the official announcement issued after the previous CCHEIA meeting, which was carefully deliberated and formally approved by the association. In addition, the officers discussed the planning and coordination of the upcoming CCHEIA River Clean-Up Activity scheduled for April 2026, reaffirming the association’s commitment to environmental stewardship and collaborative community engagement.

The discussion centered on the association’s future activities, and initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration among member institutions and ensuring the effective implementation of upcoming programs. The CCHEIA Christmas Presentation 2025, with the theme “Christmas at the Plaza: Tinig, Talento, Tradisyon,” was successfully held on December 16, 2025, at Plaza Banga, Calamba City—a festive celebration filled with music, creativity, and the richness of Filipino Christmas traditions.
This meaningful event was led by the National University–Laguna as the Overall Chair, highlighting unity, collaboration, and shared excellence among the higher education institutions of Calamba City.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Calamba, especially to Hon. Roseller H. Rizal, City Mayor and CCHEIA Honorary Chairperson; Hon. Atty. Angelito S. Lazaro Jr., City Vice Mayor; Hon. Charisse Ann Hernandez-Alcantara, Representative of the Lone District of Calamba City; and Ms. Maolen Karla M. Boholano, Department Head of the Cultural Affairs, Tourism and Sports Development Department, for their invaluable support and commitment to cultural development.
