The Department of Teacher Education of City College of Calamba held its Investiture and Pinning Ceremony on August 1, 2026, 12:30pm. at the LLC Auditorium, Calamba Elementary School (Central 2), with the theme "Alab ng Edukasyon, Tanglaw ng Bukas: Igniting Minds, Shaping Futures, and Sustaining the Legacy of Excellence."
The theme was felt throughout the whole program โ a reminder of the passion it takes to teach, the guidance it takes to shape the future, and the legacy every teacher carries forward.
The event started on time and ended on time, thanks to the rehearsal held the day before, which made everything run smoothly. Parents and students were also kept inside the venue instead of waiting outside in the heat, and were later lined up properly for the processional.
The program was graced by the inspiring words of Dr. Ronald A. Gonzales, former Dean of the Department of Arts, Sciences, and Teacher Education (formerly DTE), who now serves as the President of City College of Calamba. His message added even more meaning to the occasion, coming from someone who once led the very department now sending off its newest batch of pre-service teachers.
The pinning was an emotional moment, as parents and guardians were the ones who pinned their pre-service teachers. It was a simple but meaningful way of showing that no teacher gets to this point alone โ family is there every step of the way.
The candle lighting carried its own special meaning too. Instead of the usual setup where students go up to the stage to get their flame, it was the teachers who walked over to their pre-service teachers this time. It was their way of showing that teachers are the ones who light the fire of passion in their students โ passing on the light, with hope that one day, these future teachers will pass it on too. The moment was made even more touching with CCC Himig Lakbayan singing "Go the Distance" in the background, adding depth to an already heartfelt scene.
None of this would've been possible without the student volunteers who worked side by side with the organizers, the volunteers from all the academic organizations, and the performers from CCC Himig Lakbayan who brought life to the celebration.
To all the parents, teachers, guests, and everyone who came โ thank you for making this day truly special.
