To everyone going through finals week, this season may feel heavyโbut itโs also a step forward. Every effort, late night, and quiet sacrifice is part of your growth, even if it doesnโt always show right away.
Take things one exam at a time. You donโt have to have everything figured outโjust do your best with what you have right now. Progress doesnโt always look loud; sometimes, itโs simply showing up despite the pressure.
Good luck this finals week. May you find clarity, calm, and confidence in every test you take. Youโve come this farโkeep going. ๐

Finals season can feel overwhelmingโlike everything is piling up all at once. The deadlines, the pressure, the quiet doubts in between.
But just like a cup of halo-halo, everything youโre going through right now is a mixโsome parts heavy, some parts sweet, and all of it part of your journey.
Pause when you need to. Breathe. Take things one step at a time. And donโt forget to give yourself small moments of comfortโyou deserve that, especially now.
Youโve made it this far, and that already says so much about your strength. Keep going, but be gentle with yourself along the way. ๐

In line with its commitment to community development and holistic well-being, the Community Extension Program (CES) successfully conducted โ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐ช๐๐๐๐จ๐จ: ๐ผ ๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ก ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ ๐พ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฃโ on April 17, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the UPHSD Main Lobby.
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of AB Psychology students and CITHM students, who actively facilitated the program and engaged with the participants throughout the activity.
The campaign commenced with an informative and insightful mental health talk delivered by Prof. Charie Jane Lao of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education faculty. Her discussion focused on mental health awareness, stress management, breathing techniques, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), equipping families with practical strategies to better manage their well-being.
Following the discussion, an interactive session was held where CITHM and Psychology students facilitated hands-on activities such as graham ball making and paper briquette making. These activities not only encouraged creativity and skill-building but also fostered enjoyment and meaningful engagement among the residents of Sitio Manggahan.

This reminds us that children often express their needs and emotions through their behavior. What may seem as โmisbehaviorโ is sometimes a reflection of how they are understood, guided, and responded to by the people around them. It highlights the importance of patience, awareness, and proper understanding when working with children in care settings.
In line with this, our second-year psychology students conducted ๐๐ง ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ง๐๐ซ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐-๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐ฉ๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐๐ at Bahay Pag-Asa in Biรฑan, Laguna. The experiment focused on exploring how a seminar on child behavior management may influence the self-efficacy of social workers and orphanage staff in handling real-life challenges in caring for children.
The seminar was facilitated by guest speaker ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐น๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ผ๐, who shared her knowledge and insights on child behavior management, guiding participants through practical approaches and real-life applications to better support the children under their care.

Research shows that when self-control resources are depleted, people find it harder to maintain filters. As reported by Mead et al. (2009), honesty and self-disclosure are influenced by a personโs level of self-control, which relies on limited cognitive resources. When individuals become mentally fatigued, these resources are depleted, reducing their ability to regulate behavior. Since lying or carefully managing responses requires more effort than telling the truth, fatigue often leads to greater spontaneity and authenticity.
In addition, late-night environments often involve fewer distractions and a more relaxed atmosphere, which further lowers psychological defenses. The combination of mental fatigue and a calm setting contributes to deeper, more honest conversationsโexplaining why late-night talks are often perceived as more authentic and emotionally open.
