COLLEGE ORIENTATION 2025
We are pleased to invite all college students to the Orientation Program for Academic Year 2025–2026.
📅 Date: July 22, 2025
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📍 Venue: JAL Sports Arena, 6th Floor, College Building
This orientation aims to provide essential information about academic policies and student services. It is an important opportunity to prepare for the year ahead and to be formally welcomed into the college community.
Attendance is required.

Tattoos, or batok in many native tongues, were widespread among indigenous Filipino groups — such as the Visayans, Kalingas, and Ifugaos.
The cultural history of tattooing in the Philippines is deeply rooted in indigenous traditions, spiritual beliefs, and social identity — and the life and legacy of Apo Whang-Od, the last traditional mambabatok (tattooist) of the Butbut tribe in Buscalan, Kalinga, has brought global attention to this ancient art.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭: The Descendants of Apo Whang-Od Goes to Calamba City
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: Bypass Road Café, Bucal Bypass Road, Calamba City, Laguna
𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧: July 10 to 12, 2025, 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The City of Calamba is honored to welcome the descendants of Apo Whang-Od, the last and most renowned mambabatok (traditional tattoo artist) of the Kalinga tribe, for a special three-day cultural event.

This unique event offers an opportunity to experience the time-honored tradition of batok, a sacred form of tattooing using indigenous tools and techniques passed down through generations. The art of batok is deeply rooted in Filipino indigenous culture, symbolizing bravery, identity, and connection to ancestry.

Under the guidance of the descendants of Apo Whang-Od, participants will witness and may choose to receive traditional tattoos, thoughtfully designed to preserve the authenticity and spiritual meaning of this cultural heritage.

The activity aims to promote cultural awareness, heritage preservation, and appreciation for indigenous Filipino artistry. It also serves as a tribute to the legacy of Apo Whang-Od and the continued efforts of her descendants in keeping this living tradition alive.

This event is not merely about body art — it is about understanding, honoring, and carrying forward a centuries-old legacy that speaks of who we are as a people.
