𝙉𝙀𝙒𝙎 | 𝙎𝙎𝘾 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝘾𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙣'𝙨 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝘿𝙖𝙮

The 2026 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭 (𝘚𝘚𝘊) 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 were held yesterday, August 25, at the polling center on the third floor of the Administration Building, where Cadocians cast their votes for the next set of student leaders.

Voter turnout steadily increased throughout the day as students arrived at the polling area to exercise their right to vote. Lines formed as Cadocians took their turns casting their ballots, with voter activity continuing throughout the afternoon.

The elections provided Cadocians with an opportunity to take part in choosing the student leaders who will represent the student body for the upcoming academic year.

The Philippines stands at the crossroads of industrial ambition and environmental responsibility. With the proposed 1,620-hectare Pax Silica Hub in New Clark City, the nation is being presented with a vision of economic growth, technological advancement, and global competitiveness. Yet behind these promises lies a question that deserves careful reflection: at what cost?

As one of the world's most mineral-rich countries, the Philippines possesses abundant resources essential to semiconductor production. However, many Filipinos fear that the country may once again remain a supplier of raw materials—exporting valuable minerals at low prices while importing high-value finished products at significantly higher costs. Although the hub itself is a technology facility, its demand for critical minerals could drive expanded mining in the country's mountain ranges, while its massive need for water and electricity may further strain resources that many communities already struggle to afford.

Environmental groups have also raised concerns about the project's potential impact on productive agricultural land and nearby Aeta communities, emphasizing the need for greater transparency and stronger safeguards as the proposal moves forward.

Our mountains are more than sources of minerals; they are watersheds, forests, and homes to countless species and communities. We have lived a life without AI, but we have never lived a life without water. Development should never be measured solely by economic gains. The real question is not whether Pax Silica can bring progress, but whether future generations will inherit the prosperity being promised—or merely the consequences left behind.

Calamba Doctors’ College commences its College Orientation today, gathering students for an informative session in preparation for the opening of the Academic Year 2026–2027.

The program provides students with essential information on academic policies, institutional guidelines, scholarship opportunities, and campus procedures. Discussions also cover the use of the school's automated system, student identification card (ID) application procedures, enrollment-related concerns, and other important processes that students may encounter throughout the academic year.

College administrators, faculty members, and staff facilitate the orientation, offering guidance on the resources, programs, and support mechanisms available within the institution. The session likewise provides students with a clearer understanding of institutional policies, academic expectations, and the responsibilities that come with college life.

Beyond the dissemination of information, the orientation provides students with an opportunity to become more familiar with the institution, its programs, and the resources available to support their academic journey. 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | A Stirring Mandate for the Vanguard of Healing

On July 10, 2026, Calamba Doctors’ College celebrated its 19th Commencement, Recognition, and Awarding Ceremony at the JAL Sports Arena, featuring 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬 as the Guest of Honor and Commencement Speaker.

Prior to her keynote address, the Senator was honored with a moving video tribute highlighting her extensive journey in public service. The presentation celebrated her empowering advocacy for women’s rights, her legislative push to strengthen the national healthcare system, and a leadership legacy defined by courage, compassion, and meaningful change.

In her commencement message, Senator Hontiveros reflected deeply on the invaluable role of healthcare professionals, sharing how their dedication became an epitome of hope for countless families—including her own—during the darkest days of the pandemic. She reminded the graduating class that while academic competence is vital, the true soul of their profession lies in serving others with profound empathy and humanity.

Closing her address with a stirring call to action, she urged the graduates to dream boldly for themselves, their families, and the nation. She challenged them to remain anchored to their roots, emphasizing that the country’s healthcare landscape needs their brilliance and passion immediately.

“Kailangan kayo ng bansang ito—hindi balang araw, kailangan kayo ngayon.” With these powerful words, Senator Hontiveros called on the new graduates to become active architects of a better future, reminding them that together, they possess the power to build the Philippines they have always envisioned.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | CADOCIAN YOUTH IN SERVICE: CDC NSTP-CWTS Graduates Embrace the Call to Community

Today, May 19, 2026, first-year college students under the National Service Training Program (NSTP), particularly those enrolled in the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) component, celebrated their graduation ceremony at the JAL Sports Arena of Calamba Doctors' College. Carrying the theme “Empowered Youth, Transforming Communities,” the event highlighted the students’ commitment to civic responsibility and community service.

The NSTP was conducted in accordance with the NSTP Act of 2001, a Philippine law enacted to strengthen civic consciousness, ethics of service, and defense preparedness among Filipino youth through mandatory NSTP participation among college students.

The program formally opened with a thanksgiving mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Reo G. Cabahug, OSA and organized by the Cadocian Youth Organization – Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM). In his homily, Fr. Cabahug emphasized the value of genuine service rooted in love and compassion. He reminded the students that service becomes meaningful when it comes from the heart, encouraging them to offer not only their skills but also themselves in serving others.

Following the mass, opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Rey L. Dalde, who welcomed the graduates and acknowledged their dedication throughout the NSTP program. A message of inspiration was then delivered by Dr. Juan Lagunzad.

The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of students who successfully completed the NSTP program. Graduates from each department, including Business-Related Courses, Education, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Radiologic Technology, Medical Technology, and Nursing, were called on stage for the confirmation of graduates and awarding of certificates.

Certificates of completion were presented by Dr. Lagunzad, Dr. Dalde, and Dr. Siaotong, recognizing the students’ active participation and completion of the program requirements.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Siaotong, who congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to continue embodying the values of leadership, volunteerism, and community service beyond the classroom.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | Radiating Versatility

RadTech Week 2026 officially commenced at the Old Library Admin Building of Calamba Doctors’ College, highlighting the department’s spirit of leadership, unity, and adaptability. The celebration opened with a Symposium and Inspirational Message, where guest speakers shared valuable insights into the professional landscape of Radiologic Technology, emphasizing the resilience, dedication, and commitment required as students prepare to enter the healthcare field.

The program also recognized academic excellence through the Awarding of First Semester Dean’s Listers, followed by the Send-Off Ceremony honoring graduating students as they take the next step toward their professional careers. To conclude the opening day, the RadTech community gathered at the courts for the Volleyball and Basketball Championships, showcasing not only athleticism and sportsmanship, but also the strong camaraderie shared among students. Day 1 served as a reminder that growth in this field extends beyond academics, shaping both character and leadership.

The momentum of RadTech Week continued on Day 2 as students participated in a series of academic, strategic, and physical challenges designed to strengthen teamwork and collaboration. The day opened with Group Yells and Team Games, where participants displayed coordination, creativity, and school spirit. The competition then shifted into a test of knowledge through the Pop Quiz, followed by the Amazing Race, which challenged teams to solve problems and overcome obstacles across the campus grounds.

Meanwhile, in the digital arena, Online Warriors dominated the battlefield through intense CODM and MLBB matches, demonstrating tactical thinking, communication, and precision under pressure. These activities reflected the versatility of the RadTech community, balancing intellectual ability, physical endurance, and teamwork.

Altogether, the first two days of RadTech Week 2026 became a celebration of excellence, resilience, and unity, proving that the department continues to thrive not only in academics, but also in leadership, sportsmanship, and collective spirit.
