𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐍𝐚𝐠𝐝𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐠 𝐈𝐤𝐚-𝟏𝟔𝟓 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐨 𝐍𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐍𝐢 𝐆𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐏. 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥

Bilang paggunita sa ika-165 anibersaryo ng kapanganakan ni G*t Jose P. Rizal, nagsagawa ang Jose Platon Memorial School ng isang makabuluhang programa ngayong Hunyo 19, 2026 sa pangunguna ng school head na si Gng. Merlita M. Lastimosa.

Dinaluhan ang programa ng mga opisyal ng Sangguniang Barangay ng Saimsim at Camaligan, Sangguniang Kabataan ng Saimsim, Calamba Volunteers Association – Saimsim Chapter, SPTA, SELG, YES-O, mga mag-aaral, at mga magulang. Ang palatuntunan ay pinangunahan ng mga tagapagdaloy na sina Kamahalan Deatras at Cyrine Bugia ng Ikaanim na Baitang.

Nagbigay ng pampasiglang bilang ang JPMS Drum and Lyre Corps, habang nagbahagi si Gng. Ailyn A. Abriol ng pagbabalik-tanaw sa buhay at mga ambag ni G*t Jose Rizal sa bansa. Isinagawa rin ang pag-aalay ng bulaklak na sinabayan ng paghandog ng awitin nina Bb. Gelyn R. Mendivel at Bb. Joanna Joy R. Cervantes bilang pagpupugay sa pambansang bayani.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagdiriwang na ito, muling pinagtibay ng JPMS ang kahalagahan ng pagmamahal sa bayan at pagsasabuhay ng mga adhikain ni G*t Jose P. Rizal para sa kabataang Pilipino.

Jose Platon Memorial School successfully conducted its 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today, reinforcing safety and preparedness among students and staff.
Sir Severino F. Magsadia, SDRRM Focal Person, led the activity and introduced the MAGS principle:
M – Maintain
A – Alertness and
G – Guard
S – Safety
"Duck, Cover, and Hold" was practiced, followed by an orderly evacuation to safe zones. The drill ended with a debriefing to evaluate response time and readiness.

As part of the opening block and to set the tone for the new school year, Jose Platon Memorial School conducted a series of essential activities for learners and parents.

The learners completed the diagnostic test, along with the reading and rapid mathematics assessments, to help guide our teachers in addressing their learning needs. Each learner also underwent a physical assessment, which included checking their nutritional status and an eye test.

Learners also elected their classroom officers, while during the homeroom meeting, parents were updated on classroom policies, schedules, and upcoming school events and elected their parent representatives.

In preparation for the upcoming school opening, Jose Platon Memorial School - Calamba successfully conducted a grade-level orientation for parents.

Held to ensure both parents and learners fully grasp the important discussions, the orientation covered key topics including the three-term calendar of the Department of Education (DepEd), school rules and regulations, the grading system and grade-level requirements, learners' health concerns, and many others.

The school remains committed to fostering a well-informed and supportive school community as the new academic year begins.

Last week, our primary learners received their Learning Kits from the City Government of Calamba. Today, we’re happy to share that the pencils have finally been added and distributed to complete each kit.

Jose Platon Memorial School holds a Holy Spirit Mass as part of its opening block activities, seeking spiritual guidance for both learners and teachers.

The mass is attended by students, faculty, parents, and guests, as the school community gathers in prayer to ask for wisdom, strength, and unity for the upcoming academic term.

To ensure a smooth start of School Year 2026-2027, Public School District Supervisor (PSDS) of Cluster 4, Ma’am Marites M. Zoleta, visited Jose Platon Memorial School today. She extended technical assistance to the teachers and school head, addressing immediate needs and offering support wherever necessary.

In the same spirit of care, Nurse Juvileen A. Roxas also came to the school to check on the health of the teaching staff. She monitored blood pressure and provided health interventions based on the results of the teachers' Annual Physical Examination.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ma’am Zoleta and Nurse Roxas for their presence and genuine concern.

On the fifth day of Brigada Eskwela 2026, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐥𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐲, 𝐄𝐏𝐒 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, visited the school to monitor the progress of preparations.
He checked the readiness of classrooms, the preparedness of teachers, the school environment, and other important areas.

The fifth and final day of Jose Platon Memorial School Brigada Eskwela 2026 brought together parents and teachers in a shared mission of preparedness—repainting classrooms, dusting every corner, and cleaning electric fans to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for learners.

Joining the initiative were the Brigada Eskwela Volunteers of the 𝐋𝐲𝐜𝐞𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬–𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐚, who distributed hygiene kits to learners present on the day.

The week-long activity concluded with a simple closing program, followed by the awarding of certificates to the dedicated Brigada Eskwela stakeholders in recognition of their invaluable support.

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Brigada a success. Together, we are ready for the opening of classes.

School Year 2026-2027 officially began today with a flag raising ceremony, followed by the introduction of the school's teaching staff.
Ma’am Merlita M. Lastimosa, school head, welcomed the learners and addressed the assembly, encouraging them for the coming term.
The school is observing the opening block of DepEd's three-term calendar, scheduled for the first week. Activities for the week include:
•Class orientation
•Getting-to-know-each-other sessions
•Discussion of school and classroom rules and regulations
•Presentation of class schedules
•Measurement of learners' height and weight for the Nutritional Status report
•Assessment of learners (RMA, CRLA, Phil-Iri)
