๐‹๐ˆ๐“๐„๐‘๐€๐‘๐˜ | ๐–๐ก๐จ ๐€๐ฆ ๐ˆ ๐–๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐Œ๐ฒ ๐€๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ

I'm terrified of being ordinary. But what if "ordinary" is exactly what I need to be? What if everything I've chased was just a distraction from the person I was meant to become? These achievements, they made me paranoid, built a wall between me and everyone else. Suddenly, I saw enemies everywhere, people who wanted to tear me down, jealous of the very things I thought defined me.

It feels weird when you stop trying so hard to be the best. But this time, I felt peace and freedomโ€”seemed like all the pressures to win or to be perfect vanished. But sometimes, you're like "uh and what now?"

I start wondering if I was just a walking paper. A list of achievements. Was that it? just a bunch of medals, certificates and trophy plaques. That's when I started to feels like a totally fake. I don't feel alive anymoreโ€”it hindering me to do things that make me feel happy because doing things that aren't helpful for my success feels wrong. Perhaps, I should try to enjoy my life because it was more worthy than having recognition. Those things still mattered, even without a prize.

Maybe who I am without all the achievements is justโ€ฆ me. An average person who messes up sometimes, but also cares about things. Someone who wants to be a good person, not just a successful one.

It kind of hard finding who you really wasโ€”who that "me" really is. But also, an exciting part knowing what really makes you a "happy person." And maybe, that's enough.

The MarPost of MRDA Academic Center Inc. proudly shares the results of the 2025 3rd Congressional District Schools Press Conference held on November 20, 2025, at Rodriguez National High School, Pili, Camarines Sur. The campus journalists gave their best in all categories.

Nicole Azaรฑes earned Rank 3 in Sports Writing โ€“ English, while Jerome Bayobo won Rank 2 in Copy Reading and Headline Writing โ€“ English. Both Nicole and Jerome will move on to the 2025 Division Schools Press Conference, bringing pride to the school and the publication.

Other participants also performed well. John Carlo Barde placed Rank 7 in Editorial Writing โ€“ Filipino, Aeschylus Dumalagan placed Rank 7 in Column Writing โ€“ Filipino, and Lyka Mendoza placed Rank 8 in News Writing โ€“ Filipino. Their efforts helped strengthen the teamโ€™s performance.

The MarPost also thanks all other campus journalists who joined the competition: Aaron Rodriguez, Lheivy Morandarte, Cathlyn Marfil, Jhoann Lacsamana, Justin James Uno, Zandre Zamudio, Lavigne Diaz, and Emerald Panuelos. Their dedication and hard work are highly appreciated.

Representing the publication in this prestigious event are the campus journalists who will showcase their skills in various categories under the guidance of their School Paper Advisers, Mr. Jerold Crobalde and Ms. Patricia Elopre.

Representing The MarPost in the Editorial Writing category is John Carlo Barde for Filipino. In News Writing, Aaron Rodriguez competes in English while Lyka Mendoza represents the Filipino category. For Feature Writing (English), Lheivy Morandarte steps forward to showcase her skill.

In Sports Writing, Nicole Azanes carries the English category as Cathlyn Marfil handles the Filipino category. The Editorial Cartooning team is represented by Jhoann Lacsamana for Editorial and Justin James Uno for Filipino. For Photojournalism (Filipino), Zandre Zamudio participates, while in Copy Reading and Headline Writing, Jerome Bayobo competes in English and Lavigne Diaz in Filipino. The applause feels empty.

Iโ€™m like following the planโ€”graduate, get a job, โ€œgrow up.โ€ Each step feels like a line in a script I didnโ€™t write. The moment we are born, it seems like the script already written. The path is laid out for me, and Iโ€™m walking it because thatโ€™s what I am supposed to do. The gold stars from elementary that our teachers put in turns into grades, and now it is all about getting that โ€œperfectโ€ job. Is this really success or just doing what everyone expects?

But the words feel weird and fakeโ€”like Iโ€™m reading lines from a play I didnโ€™t choose. I look around and see other people acting their parts, doing their jobs and smiling when they are supposed to. Are they faking it too? Or am I the only one who feels empty inside?

I look out at everyone watching, my family, my friends and theyโ€™re all waiting for me to play my part. Am I brave enough to say, โ€œThis isnโ€™t my line, I donโ€™t like this part!โ€ and walk off the stage?

This isnโ€™t my storyโ€” itโ€™s a play Iโ€™m forced to perform. Every time the โ€œcurtainโ€ comes down, I feel trapped, like I have to do it all again tomorrow. But the applause is starting to sound like noise, and Iโ€™m ready to grab the pen and write my own story, even if itโ€™s messy and imperfect.
