ON SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH FOR SELECT SUPREME SECONDARY LEARNER GOVERNMENT (SSLG) OFFICERS AND TEACHER ADVISERS OF SELECT SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN SIBUYAN

Select SSLG Officers and Teacher Advisers from ten secondary schools across Sibuyan Island gathered at Magdiwang National High School for the Capacity Building on School Mental Health.
The event featured a strong lineup of resource speakersโFrances Reynova M. Monton, Nurse Reylan M. Famero, Nurse Liezl Yazul, and Julie Ann M. Tanโwho discussed crucial topics including Mental Health 101; Mental Health of Children and Adolescents; Anger Management; Stress Management; Anxiety and Depression; Su***de and Su***de Prevention; and Mental Health First Aid.
A heartfelt Message of Support was also delivered by the Honorable Municipal Mayor of Magdiwang, HON. NOEL JOSEPH M. MACHON, emphasizing the LGUโs commitment to strengthening mental health programs for the youth.
Representing Cajidiocan National High School, participants Rey Ann Carmela Rey, Princess Kimsheen Cortes, Ashley R. Galang, Jayzel Gwinneth P. Reyes, Kate Ysabelle G. Robis, Megan R. Rollan, together with Maโam Joanne B. Faminial, actively engaged in the discussions and capacity-building activities. The program concluded with the awarding of certificates to SSLG officers and advisers, recognizing their dedication and leadership in promoting safe, genuine, and supportive school environments.
As student leaders, we stand united in our mission to raise awareness and strengthen mental health support in our schools. This capacity-building program, uplifted by the LGUโs support and the guidance of mental health professionals, reminded us that every learnerโs well-being matters. With renewed knowledge, compassion, and courage, we commit to being advocates of kindness, understanding, and mental wellness not just today, but every day moving forward.๐ซ
