Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila School was conceived in the midst of political disorder, decline in values and much uncertainty during the mid-80’s. Inspired by the EDSA Revolution of February 25, 1986, and after having met the Focolare Movement, Mrs. Lydia Cuevas-Vicente, upon consultation with her colleagues in the field of education, founded LRMS as a school with a vision to mold future leaders willing
to serve others, the community, the nation and even the whole world. Originally planned to be called Atheneum de Lorenzo Ruiz, it was finally called by the name it is known today, Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila School. At present, our school offers Pre-Kinder, Grade School, Junior High School and Senior High School Curriculum. Our mission of molding holistic youth has geared our programs toward the formation of the mind, the will, and the character of the child. As such, Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila School continuously strengthens its curricular and co- curricular programs to provide our students not only the knowledge but the skills and competencies to succeed in the real world. LRMS also takes pride in its strong partnership with the Ruizian parents as well as its involvement in the community and different organizations. We are most proud of the strong character and educational foundation that we offer our students. We provide our students with all the means to develop their God-given talents. The school lays the foundation upon which they will build their future. The Core Values of Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila School stem from the philosophy, vision and mission of the school as exemplified by its patron, St. COMMUNION:
A Ruizian values his relationship with God, with his fellowmen, and with creation. To become a community who gives witness to the Gospel, the Ruizian has at heart Jesus’ prayer: “They may all be one … that the world may believe.” (John 17,21). He tries to live out Jesus’ commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” (John 13, 34) so that peace and unity may be achieved. SERVICE:
A Ruizian values the good that he can do for the other. Love is service and Jesus gave the example of servant leadership. “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John 13, 14)

A Ruizian values the gifts that God has given to him. Every person is God’s gift to the other. Creation is a gift of God; every talent is a blessing. Pushed by love, the Ruizian gives his best in all that he does and with everything that he relates to for: “As each has received a gift, employ it for one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1Peter 4,10)
