NEMSU-Cagwait Campus Advances Employee Wellness Through Preventive Health Initiative

September 2, 2026 | Cagwait, Surigao del Sur

The NEMSU-Cagwait Campus successfully conducted the Wellness Program on Lifestyle Diseases Prevention by delivering accessible health screening, monitoring, and educational services to more than 23 employees.

The program featured key health services including;
*Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) and Random Blood Sugar (RBS) Testing
*Blood Pressure Monitoring, and
*Health and Lifestyle Education

Spearheaded by the Health Services Unit with the support of School Nurse June Carlo P. Avila, the initiative reinforces the university’s commitment to preventive healthcare and employee well-being.

The activity underscored that sustaining good health requires continuous awareness, regular health monitoring, informed lifestyle decisions, and proactive engagement in preventive care. By bringing these essential services directly to the workplace, the Health Services Unit empowered employees to take greater responsibility for their health and well-being, both at work and in their communities.

This program reflects NEMSU-Cagwait Campus’ ongoing efforts to cultivate a healthier, more resilient workforce through accessible and preventive health interventions.
