LOOK || NEMSU Cagwait ROTC Advanced Cadet Officers Receive Subsistence Allowance from the Philippine Army

The Advanced ROTC Cadet Officers of the NEMSU Cagwait ROTC Unit, under the 1504th Community Defense Center, 15th Regional Community Defense Group, have officially received their subsistence allowance from the Philippine Army for the second semester.

This support serves as vital financial assistance to help cadets meet their training needs, such as food, transportation, and academic materials. It also stands as recognition of their dedication, discipline, and continuous commitment to the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program.

On 13 February 2026, the NEMSU Cagwait ROTC Unit successfully conducted its first week of formation at the 3-Storey Building. The activity commenced with the proper arrangement and designation of platoons, ensuring an organized structure among cadets and cadettes in accordance with military standards.

The formation also included a comprehensive recap of the subject on PA Organization to reinforce the cadets’ understanding of the Philippine Army structure and functions. Additionally, a short orientation was conducted to reiterate important reminders regarding the grading system and to prepare the corps for the upcoming PAATI.

The entire activity was conducted under the supervision of the Admin NCO, Sgt. Roberto B Canedo (Inf) PA, ensuring discipline, order, and adherence to established ROTC protocols. The unit remains committed to upholding excellence, leadership, and service in all its undertakings.

The summit, themed “𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲,” brought together ROTC Advance Cadets and Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs) from various higher education institutions across the Caraga Region. The two-day activity aimed to strengthen leadership competence, promote national security awareness, and deepen the cadets’ commitment to service in the country’s reserve force.

Throughout the activity, cadets participated in 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽-𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that emphasized discipline, accountability, and patriotism. These engagements were designed to prepare advance cadets for increased responsibilities within the ROTC program and future roles in national defense.

The summit also featured 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀, including scout ranger demonstrations, explosives awareness, armored vehicles, fi****ms familiarization, and modern military equipment. These immersive activities provided cadets with practical exposure to real-world military operations and joint-service coordination.

The activity culminated in a closing ceremony graced by 𝗖𝗢𝗟 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗕 𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗢 𝗜𝗡𝗙 (𝗚𝗦𝗖) 𝗣𝗔, representing 𝗠𝗚𝗘𝗡 𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗘 𝗧 𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗬𝗥𝗢𝗡, Commander, 4th Infantry “Diamond” Division, PA, as Guest of Honor and Speaker, reaffirming the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ commitment to developing disciplined, capable, and mission-ready future leaders.

On 𝟭𝟴–𝟮𝟬 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗘𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 actively participated in the 𝟳𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 in support of local government activities. The activity was conducted under the direct supervision of 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗖𝗢, 𝗦𝗴𝘁 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 𝗕 𝗖𝗮ñ𝗲𝗱𝗼 (𝗜𝗻𝗳) 𝗣𝗔, whose leadership and guidance ensured the effective ex*****on of assigned duties. The commitment, discipline, and professionalism of the ROTC Officers were evident during the 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 (𝟯) 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 (𝟯) 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 of continuous service.

A joint opening ceremony for the Cadet Officer Qualifying Course is set this afternoon at Tandag Campus. The activity is part of the ROTC program for Academic Year 2025–2026.

Participants are cadets from Tandag, San Miguel, and Cagwait Campuses. The trainees are students who are preparing for officer roles in the ROTC corps.

The training is conducted due to the graduation of several former cadet officers according to Mr. Jayzel Banggoy, ROTC coordinator of Tandag Campus. The program is intended to ensure leadership continuity within the ROTC units of the university.

University and military officials are present during the ceremony.

The Cadet Officer Qualifying Course is a required step for cadets who aim to assume command and instructional duties. The course is designed to strengthen leadership skills and military preparedness.

The event is held at the NEMSU Parade Ground in Tandag Campus. The activity highlights cooperation between the university and the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps in developing future leaders.

The ceremony is expected to conclude with the reaffirmation of commitment to honor, patriotism, and duty.
