IT’S BACK, CDO. LET’S RUN TOGETHER!

The Michael A. Costello Fun Run 2026 returns on January 11, 2026 at the Cagayan de Oro Boulevard for another unforgettable morning of movement, music, and community spirit.

Gather your family, invite your friends, and be part of a run that goes beyond the finish line! This race is OPEN TO EVERYONE. Every stride you take helps support the Michael A. Costello Scholarship Program, opening doors to quality St. Mary’s education for more deserving students.

All registered runners will receive an official race bib and exclusive event jersey.

Good evening, SMS community!

We now enter the Third Week of Advent, known as Gaudete Sunday, a special time that calls us to Joy. Even as we continue to wait and prepare, this week reminds us to rejoice, for the coming of the Lord is near. Christian joy is not merely a feeling, but a deep and abiding trust in God’s promises.

For this week’s paraliturgical Advent prayer, Poveda Circle lights the third Advent candle as a sign of joyful anticipation. Through this moment of prayer, the members lift the intentions of the entire SMS learning community, inviting everyone to pause, reflect, and rejoice in the hope we share.

May this week of Advent fill our hearts with joy that overflows into gratitude, kindness, and love as we draw closer to the celebration of Christ’s birth.

As we journey through Advent, we now enter the Second Week, a time centered on Peace. In the midst of waiting and preparation, Advent reminds us that true peace comes from opening our hearts to Christ and allowing His presence to calm our fears, heal our divisions, and guide our actions.

Continuing our Advent journey, Poveda Circle offers this week’s paraliturgical Advent prayer, during which the second Advent candle will be lit. Through this prayer, the members lift the intentions of the entire SMS learning community as we reflect on Christ, the Prince of Peace, who comes to dwell among us.

Call for Concessionaires: St. Mary’s Christmas Family Festival

As a gift to our community, booth fees are waived this year!

We welcome families and alumni to join us as concessionaires. Products may include food, drinks, clothing, accessories, toys, crafts, gifts, or other merchandise. Christmas-themed items are encouraged, such as ornaments, parols, pastries, bibingka, p**o bumbong, sikwate, and more.

You may also offer experiences like craft workshops, face painting, or Christmas fair games.

Good evening, SMS community!

We have entered a new liturgical year with the beginning of Advent. The word Advent comes from the Latin adventus, which means “arrival.” It is a sacred season of waiting for the Lord’s coming—an active waiting that calls us to renewal, penance, and prayer.

To help us enter more deeply into this season and prepare our hearts for Christmas, Poveda Circle will be posting a weekly paraliturgical Advent prayer. During these moments of prayer, the Advent candles will be lit and the members will pray on behalf of the entire SMS learning community.

We warmly invite everyone to join in prayer and reflect on the theme of each week, beginning with Hope for the First Week of Advent. May these shared moments help us welcome Christ with hearts ready and renewed.

Following the announcement of Mayor Klarex Uy and for everyone’s safety, St. Mary’s School will be shortening classes today. Dismissal will be at 2:20 PM to allow parents time to pick up their children early and avoid traffic due to the weather. Parents may also fetch their children earlier if they wish.

Kinder PM, Grade 1 PM, and Grade 2 PM classes are fully suspended.
