📣 CALL FOR PAPERS | Dan-ag: Journal of Educational Studies

The School of Education, Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan invites scholars, educators, and researchers to submit original and relevant studies for Volume 5, Issue 1 | AY 2026–2027 of Dan-ag: Journal of Educational Studies, the official research journal of the School of Education.

📚 Submissions may include:
• Original research articles
• Classroom or school-based action research
• Systematic, scoping, or integrative reviews
• Educational innovation and practice papers
• Policy or perspective articles
• Instrument development and validation studies

👥 Who may submit?
XU School of Education and non-SOE graduate students, XU faculty and undergraduate action research groups, and educators and researchers from institutions beyond XU.

✨ No submission or publication fee

Studies completed within the last three years may be considered. All submissions undergo editorial screening and independent peer review. Submission does not guarantee publication.

The Pre-Internship Equipping Workshop Series (PIEWS) successfully commenced on August 10-12, 2026, under the theme, “Carrying the Mission Forward: Energizing Commitments to Teach Beyond and Lead to Transform.” The three-day program brought together the fourth-year Education students of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan in preparation for their upcoming In-Campus deployment. The opening program featured the opening remarks of Dr. Edralin C. Manla, Dean of the School of Education, who welcomed the student interns and emphasized the importance of preparation, commitment, and responsibility as they transition from students to pre-service teachers. Day 1 focused on essential internship competencies, with Mr. Kien Marvin P. Cabudoy discussing "Time management, productivity, and work-life balance", followed by Mr. Jet Hokin Paclar, MAEd, who highlighted "Confident Communication, Professional presence, and effective Public Speaking".

On Day 2, the workshop centered on "Navigating Challenging School Situations: Resilience, Emotional Well-Being, and Professional Response.". Dr. Charito B. Ferrer emphasized the importance of self-management, emotional well-being, resilience, and self-care when navigating challenging situations in the school setting. In the afternoon, Ms. Lea Lilibeth B. Emata discussed “Professionalism in the Workplace: Ethics, Etiquette, Conduct, and Conflict Management ", and the responsibility of ensuring that every learner feels safe, respected, included, and valued. Through practical insights, performances, and reflection activities, the interns were encouraged to develop the emotional maturity and professional awareness necessary to navigate the realities of the teaching profession.

The three-day series concluded with Day 3, "Understanding Internship Roles, Expectations, and School Culture: General Orientation", which provided the student interns with essential information and expectations for their upcoming deployment. The orientation clarified their roles and responsibilities, internship policies and procedures, school placement, cooperating teachers, professional conduct, and other important guidelines to help ensure a smooth transition into the field.

PIEWS served as a meaningful preparation for the fourth-year Education students, equipping them not only with practical knowledge and professional skills but also with the mindset, values, and sense of purpose needed to carry the mission of education forward. As they step into their respective classrooms, they are called to teach beyond, lead to transform, and embody the mission of an Ateneo educator.

This organized internationalization initiative offers a valuable opportunity to broaden your educational perspective while earning an international certification / microcredential on Global Education from one of Xavier Ateneo’s partner universities in Thailand.

To ensure everyone gets the absolute best learning experience, our travel dates have been adjusted after coordination with our Thai partner institutions. Original travel dates coincided with several local public holidays that would have impacted our academic visits and institutional activities.
