The Southern de Oro Philippines College ROTC Unit proudly joined the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division in bringing together ROTC Advance Cadets from Region 10 for the 2025 Summit at 4ID Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

Held over two days at 4ID Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, this convergence was truly transformative. It focused on igniting discipline, patriotism, and dedicated service among our nation's future youth leaders.

Through a powerful lineup of focused sessions, dynamic discussions, and mission-driven activities, the Summit successfully strengthened the Reserve Force. It was a vital step in inspiring cadets to rise as the next generation of empowered and mission-driven Filipino leaders.

The Southern de Oro Philippines College (SPC) Reserve Officers’ Training Corps successfully concluded its 12th Training Day on November 29, 2025.

The session kicked off sharply at 0700H with cadet accounting and attendance at the SPC Open Space Court before moving to the 4th-floor for MS1 Examination.

Following the exam, the day culminated with the significant Deliberation of Aspiring Cadet Officers, a vital process that rigorously assesses the potential of the corps' future leadership. The deliberation was conducted by a distinguished panel, MAJ ROJEL N GARCIA (INF) PA,Commandant of SPC ROTC Unit, Cpl Jose T Abaya Jr (Inf) PA, Pvt Sadanel Princess Y Sabdul PA (Res), Pvt Sheena Kaye Sombilon PA (Res), and CDT CPT ERICK N FLORES (2CL), Corps Commander of SPC ROTC Unit.

This successful session marks a major milestone for the cadets, as it proudly signifies the last formation and completion for the MS1 class period.

The Southern de Oro Philippines College recently welcomed key officials from the 10th Regional Community Defense Group (10RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, for a significant courtesy visit and strategic dialogue.

The distinguished delegation was led by 𝐂𝐎𝐋 𝐁𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐒 𝐅𝐒 (𝐆𝐒𝐂) 𝐏𝐀, Group Commander of 10RCDG, accompanied by 𝐋𝐓𝐂 𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐔 𝐏𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀 𝐆𝐒𝐂 (𝐈𝐍𝐅) 𝐏𝐀, Executive Officer and 1001st CDC Director. The visiting party also included 𝐌𝐒𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂 𝐒𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 (𝐈𝐧𝐟) 𝐏𝐀, Group Sergeant Major, 𝐂𝐩𝐥 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐚 (𝐈𝐧𝐟) 𝐏𝐀, and 𝐂𝐩𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐓 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐉𝐫 (𝐈𝐧𝐟) 𝐏𝐀.

The delegation was formally welcomed by 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐍𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐏. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, School President of Southern de Oro Philippines College, along with Vice President 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐚 and the unit's key officers the NSTP Director and ROTC Coordinator.

The courtesy call served as a vital platform to strengthen collaboration and review the ROTC unit's operational status. 𝐂𝐃𝐓 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 𝐍 𝐅𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐒 (𝟐𝐂𝐋), Corps Commander, presented the unit's accomplishments and initiatives, highlighting the significant progress and development of the cadets.

The session kicked off sharply at 0700H with cadet accounting and attendance at the SPC Open Space Court before moving to the 4th-floor lecture.

Pvt Sheena Kaye Sombilon PA (Res) delivered a compelling lecture on the AFP Mandate, which strongly emphasized the core constitutional duties, and crucial role of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in upholding national sovereignty and security.

Cpl Sadanel Princess Y Sabdul PA (Res) discussed the Introduction to Infantry Operations, covering the fundamental organization, troop movement formations, and basic combat principles essential for effective small-unit maneuvering.

TSg Alhadad B Wilson (OS) PA delivered an in-depth on IED Awareness. His presentation focused on identification protocols, immediate response drills, and the preventative measures necessary to the threat posed by improvised explosive devices in operational environments.

The final presentation was delivered by Cpl Jose T Abaya Jr (Inf) PA on the Fundamentals of Infantry Operations, emphasizing the systematic planning process, the essential roles within a fire team or squad, and the practical application of combat orders.

Southern de Oro Philippines College Reserve Officers’ Training Corps completed it's 10th Training Day on 15 November 2025.

The day began promptly at 0700H with the accounting and attendance of cadets at the SPC Open Space Court and before proceeding to the 4th floor for lectures.

Basic Life Support was delivered by SSg Reinerio V Amarille II (Inf) PA. This emphasized the critical, immediate actions required to save a life, focusing on first aid techniques to stabilize a victim and the fundamental principles of emergency response, equipping cadets with hands-on skills.

Following this, Pfc Rashed Remon Campong (Inf) PA introduced the QR Code Attendance. This new digital platform provides a fast, accurate method for cadets to record their attendance online, replacing traditional methods with a highly efficient, paperless process.

𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | 10RCDG Conducted its ROTC Convention 2025 at the 4ID Clubhouse, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City last 07 and 08 November 2025.

ROTC Convention 2025 — The 10th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG) under the leadership of COL BERNARD T RAGUS FS (GSC) PA, Group Commander, conducted two-day event attended by the Commandants, Assistant Commandants, ROTC Coordinators, Academic and Non-Academic NCOs, Admin NCOs, and Corps Commanders across Region 10. Various activities were conducted, including lectures, workshops, and discussions that aimed to enhance knowledge, clarify responsibilities, and improve coordination between commandants, coordinators, and corps commanders.

One of the highlights of the event was the launching of the ROTC QR Code System, an innovation designed to make attendance and academic tracking more efficient.

Several Army units such as the 4FAB, 4CAV, and 1SFBn also showcased their static displays and shared their roles in nation-building. The program concluded with a lecture on the West Philippine Sea, giving participants a deeper understanding of national security issues.

The ROTC Convention 2025 truly embodied the spirit of discipline, patriotism, and service values that continue to guide the cadets and officers in shaping a better and stronger nation.

Gone too soon, but never forgotten 🕊️

On behalf of the entire Southern de Oro Philippines College ROTC Unit, we extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to the friends and family of CDT 1LT DASHERY M CALAGO (2CL).

She was much more than a student, classmate, and a cadet officer. She was a valued friend, a shining light, and a source of joy.

We will forever hold onto the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and the genuine warmth she shared with us all.

In this time of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with all those who loved her, and we stand together to honor her memory.
