🥗 Exploring Healthy Food: A Fun Nutrition Month Activity at Hiraya Academy! 🌿

Last July 30 (Thursday), our Homeschool Face-to-Face learners had a fun and meaningful Nutrition Month activity filled with food, movement, and hands-on learning.

Our learners explored healthy food choices by peeling eggs and preparing their own egg sandwiches, picking fresh moringa (malunggay), and slicing fruits to create colorful fruit-on-a-stick. 🍳🥬🍓

The fun continued with singing, dancing, and simple exercises about healthy food and taking care of our bodies. Through these activities, our learners experienced how learning about nutrition can happen through hands-on experiences, movement, and preparing food together.

At Hiraya Academy, we love giving children opportunities to discover healthy habits through meaningful everyday experiences.

Discovering healthy choices, growing with purpose. 🌱💚

A homeschool day can start later than planned. A lesson can take longer because your child needs more time with it. Some days, the work you expected to finish simply moves to tomorrow.

That does not make the day unproductive.

What matters is having a rhythm your family can come back to, even when the exact schedule changes.

Maybe there is one lesson that needs your child’s best attention that morning. Maybe a break comes earlier than expected. Maybe you switch the order because frustration is starting to get in the way of learning.

There can still be structure in that kind of day.

For many families, the more useful question is not, “Did we follow the timetable perfectly?” It is, “What did my child understand or practice today?”

Homeschooling gives families room to plan with intention while responding to the learner in front of them. At Hiraya, that matters because learning is not separate from family life. We want the plan to give direction without making every change feel like a setback.

If today did not go exactly as expected, look at what still moved forward. Sometimes progress is easier to see when the clock is not the only measure.

Save this for a homeschool day that needs a little more room. 🌱

Learning does not always begin with a worksheet.

It can happen while reading a grocery list, preparing food, caring for a plant, or asking questions during a community visit. Everyday activities give children meaningful chances to follow a sequence and connect new ideas to something they can see and experience.

For homeschooling families, a lesson may be waiting in the middle of an ordinary day. It can simply begin by inviting a child to participate, make a choice, or ask a question.

What everyday activity has become a learning moment in your home? Share it with us below. 🌱

Homeschooling does not mean turning your home into a classroom or carrying every lesson on your own.

Some days, you will guide with confidence. On other days, you may sit beside your child and figure things out together. Both are part of learning.

Under DepEd’s Homeschooling Program, parents or guardians take an active role in the teaching-learning process, while the school assigns a homeschool coordinator and provides learning plans and materials. Families should enroll through a school authorized to offer the program.

What matters is having the willingness to understand your child’s pace, notice what helps them learn, and reach out when support is needed.

At Hiraya Academy, we believe learning grows through a close partnership between the child, family, and learning community.

Thinking about homeschooling for your family? Send us a message, and let’s talk about what the journey could look like for your child.

Playgroup may look like simple play, but little moments can carry big learning.

At Little Bee, children are gently introduced to routines, stories, movement, art, sharing, and playing with others. They get to explore in a calm space where learning feels natural and friendships can begin.

For many children, playgroup becomes a warm first step before bigger school transitions. No rush, no pressure. Just guided play, caring teachers, and space to grow at their own pace. 🐝

Wondering if Little Bee Playgroup is a good fit for your child? Send us a message. We’d be happy to guide you.
