𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗘

𝗦𝗧𝗘-𝗕𝗣𝗘𝗗 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The School of Teacher Education – Bachelor of Physical Education of Liceo de Cagayan University successfully staged its culminating activity, dubbed as Harmonance 2026, on April 22, 2026, at the Rodolfo Neri Pelaez Covered Court.

Anchored on the theme “Unity in Motion: Bridging Culture Through Dance,” the event highlighted the students’ learning, creativity, and performance skills developed throughout the semester. The showcase was the product of their engagement in key courses, including BPED 3218 – Philippine Traditional Dance, BPED 4121 – International Dances and Other Forms, and BPED Elect 4102 – Music in the K–12 Curriculum.

The program featured a variety of presentations, including the singing of folk songs from different countries, Philippine traditional dances, International dances, and Other forms of dance. Each performance showcased not only the students’ technical skills but also their deep appreciation of culture, music, and movement.

Through these performances, the students demonstrated how dance can serve as a powerful medium in connecting people across different cultures and traditions.

Future educators from the School of Teacher Education (STE) distinguished themselves at the 10th Annual Intercollegiate Research Colloquium held on April 22, 2026, at Liceo de Cagayan University’s Platinum Building, Paseo del Rio Campus. Guided by Research Coordinator, Dr. Maribeth M. Cabrejas, the fourth‑year students showcased academic rigor and social relevance in their work. Their accomplishments included the 1st Place Best Poster Award by Queenbee M. Aspera, Justine Bryan O. Cinches, Princess Allene E. Poblete, Maryjen Cristy L. Yap, and Rwyneth B. Distar, advised by Elvy Q. Malabo, as well as the 2nd Place Best Paper Award by Rhiane Krizzel L. Licawan, Andrea Scarlet M. Baylon, and Pamela C. Catian, advised by Dr. Cabrejas.

Other notable contributions further underscored STE’s commitment to research excellence. In the oral paper category, Francis Kyle S. Carreon, Jennevieve M. Cabugsa, Christian Dave S. Sabit, and Hanna O. Villanueva presented their work under the mentorship of Joan B. Gallaron. Meanwhile, the visual poster presentation featured Roy Anthony Ragmac, Janden Ross C. Basadre, Rica Racero, Shynna Escabusa, Girly Jean B. Luza, and Eliah Cabonialda, also advised by Gallaron.

The School of Teacher Education (STE) reached a milestone in community empowerment on March 28, 2026, as it concluded this year's the Gugma sa Kabataan (GSK) outreach program in Barangay 17, Cagayan de Oro City.

This finale served as the powerful culmination of a dedicated service-learning and tutoring journey, where student-volunteers and local youth united through creative workshops and leadership-building performances.

The event was further immortalized by a significant donation of a new community tent and essential supplies, underscoring the department's unwavering commitment to fostering social responsibility and sustainable growth through education.

Celebrating a legacy of academic excellence and leadership, the School of Teacher Education (STE), in collaboration with the Student Body Organization (SBO), hosted its annual Recognition Day on March 25, 2026 held at the Rodolfo Neri Pelaez Audio-Visual Room (RNP-AVR).

The ceremony brought together a community of students, faculty, and staff to honor those who have excelled both inside and outside the department.

Furthermore, a major highlight of this year’s celebration was the debut of the Tangi Awards. This new tradition was established to honor students who have shown exceptional talent and grit in specialized disciplines, including performing arts, athletics, journalism, and creative excellence.

The School of Teacher Education, through the Student Body Organization, of Liceo de Cagayan University successfully concluded its much-anticipated STE Days 2026 with a two-day celebration held on March 15–16 at the Rodolfo Neri Pelaez Campus Covered Court.

The event featured sports competitions, cultural performances, and team-building activities that brought together students from different kingdoms across the department.
