This recognition reflects the power of mentorship, partnership, and shared commitment in translating research and innovation into meaningful extension work that empowers educators and communities while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. On November 29th, Christine Fletcher, Country Director for the Philippines, accepted a plague of recognition given to GO-HRE in recognition of their valuable assistance and steadfast commitment to the City College of Cagayan de Oro. City College of Cagayan de Oro Recognizes Faculty Contributions to Scholarly Book Publication
The City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) proudly recognizes the valuable contributions of Dr. Joel D. Potane, Dr. Jean T. Loquillano, and Dr. Ray Butch D. Mahinay for their meaningful participation and support in the Scholarly Book Publication Event held on December 13, 2025, at the Philtown Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City, organized by The Digital Institute Training and Development Services.
The event was further distinguished by the presence and active participation of book authors, whose works were formally presented and celebrated during the program. Their engagement provided a rich platform for scholarly exchange, dialogue, and recognition of academic contributions, reinforcing the value of authorship and research dissemination in higher education.
CCCDO likewise acknowledges the scholarly contributions of Dr. Donna Grace Cotejo and Dr. Mark Raymond Tan, co-authors from the institution, whose academic work formed part of the published books. Their involvement reflects the collaborative and collective nature of scholarly production within the College.
The active engagement of CCCDO faculty members and participating authors significantly enriched the event and reflected the institution’s strong commitment to research excellence, knowledge creation, and academic innovation. As respected scholars and advocates of research-driven education, their contributions helped foster an engaging and intellectually stimulating atmosphere for authors, guests, and institutional partners.
The scholarly book publication event marked a significant milestone in celebrating academic collaboration, knowledge creation, and research excellence, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the promotion of lifelong learning and scholarly dissemination, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration among academic institutions, publishing partners, and professional networks.
Through the participation and scholarly output of its faculty and authors, CCCDO continues to affirm its role in strengthening a culture of scholarship, collaboration, and excellence within and beyond the institution. The City College of Cagayan de Oro extends its sincere appreciation to all authors, individuals, and partner organizations who contributed to the success of this meaningful academic endeavor.

Professors from the City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) actively contributed to the advancement of regional research as they served as panelists during the 2025 Regional Research Conference held last December 10-11 at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Dr. Jean T. Loquillano, CCCDO Director for Research and Publication, and Dr. Liza Chua, Dean of the College of Education, were invited as panelists, recognizing their expertise and contributions in the field of educational research. Dr. Loquillano was assigned to Theme 1: Teaching and Learning – Senior High School (SHS) Applied Subjects, where she provided critical insights and scholarly feedback on research presentations aligned with innovative pedagogical practices.
Meanwhile, Dr. Chua served as panelist for the Cross-Cutting Theme on Inclusive Education, covering key areas such as Alternative Learning System (ALS), Indigenous Peoples Education (IPED), Special Needs Education (SNED), Madrasah Education Program (MEP), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Gender and Development (GAD).
The conference gathered education leaders and researchers from across Region X, including the Regional Office X top management personnel led by Regional Director Arturo B. Bayocot, Schools Division Superintendents (SDS), Assistant Schools Division Superintendents (ASDS), chiefs, supervisors, education specialists, and winning researchers, teachers from 14 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) in the region.
Panelists for the conference were composed of Schools Division Superintendents, representatives from Regional Office X, and experts from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Northern Mindanao, ensuring rigorous evaluation and meaningful discourse during the research presentations.
The participation of CCCDO professors as panelists underscores the institution’s strong commitment to research excellence, collaboration with the Department of Education, and sustained support for evidence-based practices that advance teaching, learning, and inclusive education in the region.

RESEARCH PUBLICATION ALERT!
City College of Cagayan de Oro (CCCDO) proudly highlights the remarkable contribution of Mr. Jason O. Herrera, one of the co-authors of the study “Motorcycle Mounted Hybrid Wind and Solar Powered Mobile Charger”, published under Lux Veritatis 12 by the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi Publication.
The research introduces a hybrid renewable energy system that utilizes a wind turbine shaft, a mini photovoltaic panel, an Arduino-based monitoring system, and a lithium-ion battery. The prototype demonstrated strong performance in terms of functionality, durability, mobility, aesthetics, marketability, and serviceability, as evaluated by six independent reviewers.
Mr. Herrera’s contribution reflects CCCDO’s commitment to promoting research-driven innovation, sustainable technology, and community-responsive solutions. His dedication to developing accessible renewable energy systems underscores the college’s mission to advance practical and environmentally conscious research outputs.
