Responsible Mountaineering Since 1989 XU-AMS was founded in 1989 by a group of outdoor enthusiast and adventurers.
The organization aims to promote environmental awareness, health and fitness, and self-discovery. An important aspect of the org to which we owe a sense of gratitude and responsibility is our alumni. We look up to them as a source of inspiration and experience. The experience they impart towards us is invaluable thus allowing is younger generations to learn and enjoy the outdoors as they have.

Last October 25-26, 2025, the Xavier University - Ateneo Mountaineering Society gathered for its BMC Application and Himamat. The event brought together alumni, members, and applicants in a space where skills were learned, stories were shared, and the love for the mountains grew stronger beneath the open sky.
