As Mother’s Day comes to an end, may we continue to carry gratitude in our hearts for the women who shaped us with love, strength, and endless sacrifice. 🤍
Behind every child’s first step is a mother who never stopped believing, guiding, and caring through every moment of growth. Being a mom is more than a title, it is a lifetime of unconditional love and devotion.
Happy Mother's Day!

“Ang kalayaan ay hindi ipinagkakaloob, ito'y ipinaglalaban.” —Emilio Aguinaldo
Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan, ating alalahanin ang tapang at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani na lumaban para sa ating kalayaan. Nawa’y maging inspirasyon ang kanilang kabayanihan upang patuloy nating ipaglaban ang bayan, sa salita man o gawa. 🇵đź‡

A YEAR AGO TODAY: LDCU Student Nurses Deliver Baby Inside a Moving Jeep in CDO
A community health nursing duty turned into a life-saving emergency when two student nurses from Liceo de Cagayan University assisted in the delivery of a baby inside a moving jeepney in Barangay San Simon on April 5, 2025.
Students Sophia Celestial and Rodbert Sumagpao were carrying out their routine duties when a worried daughter approached them for help—indicating that her mother had gone into labor.
With immediate response, both students, together with their Clinical Instructor, Mr. Benie Baldoman RN, rushed to the incident—just in time when the mother’s bag of water broke.
The team made a prompt decision to transport the laboring mother using their CHN service jeepney as there was no ambulance immediately accessible given the area’s distance.
On the way, Celestial assessed the mother’s condition and noticed that the baby’s head was already crowning. The urgent situation had urged her to instruct the mother and prepare for an emergency delivery inside the vehicle.
Amid the rushing jeepney, the team worked together under pressure and coordination—leading to a successful delivery of the baby before reaching any medical facility.
To ensure optimal and proper postnatal care, both mother and baby were transported to a near local hospital, where they arrived in stable condition.

It is in this stillness that we are reminded that even in darkness, God is at work.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14
As we pause in solemn reflection, may we find strength in patience and trust in His promises. Let this day prepare our hearts for the light and renewal that is to come.
