PAG-ILA 2022: Pagpili alang sa Malambuoโ€™ng Ugma

PAG-ILA 2022: Pagpili alang sa Malambuong Ugma Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, through its Student Social Involvement and Advocacy Program (SSIAP) in close coordination with the Central Student Government Office of the Vice President (XU-CSG OVP), has organized Pag-ila 2022: Pagpili Alang sa Malambuong Ugma, a youth-led voter's engagement initiative composed of a series of live fora for the running candidates of the 2022 local elections in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.

As the eventโ€™s title suggests, it mainly aims to provide an opportunity for the constituents to know more about their localityโ€™s future leaders through a live discourse.

The event will be divided into four major fora or episodes with the presence and participation of the candidates for city councilors, district representatives, vice mayor and mayor of Cagayan de Oro, and vice governor and governor of Misamis Oriental.

Pag-ila 2022 will be aired live on Parasat Cable TVโ€™s Channel 24, and live-streamed on the pages of Parasat HD and Rappler.

April 6, 2022 will be for CDOโ€™s city councilors, April 13 for CDOโ€™s district representatives, April 20 for CDOโ€™s vice mayor and mayor, and April 23 for Misamis Orientalโ€™s vice governor and governor.
The event will offer the candidates a non-partisan avenue where they can share their future plans and goals for their localities as well as their manifestations towards certain matters that concern the constituents.

As Filipino citizens, one of our duties is to exercise our right to vote. However, only a few are aware of the gravity of their vote. You may have even heard of these remarks:

"Isa ra man ko ka tao, dili man maka-apekto akoang ibotar."

"Dili ko kaila sa mga gadagan. Kung kinsa ra ako sige kakit-an, siya ra sad ako ginabotar."
Pag-ila 2022 will allow the voters to know more about the candidates, their backgrounds, and their positions in different issues.

Major partners of this event are the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental (CDO-Mis Or), CDOC Police Office, National Citizens Movement For Free Elections (NAMFREL) CDO-Mis Or, LIHUK 2022 Movement CDO-Mis Or, Parasat Cable TV, Rappler, Cagayan de Oro Press Club, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas CDO Mis Or, Mindanao Gold Star Daily, CLEAN 10, ALERT10 and Strong Radio.

Hali na higala, ila-ilahon nato ang mga kandidato para sa atong pagpili ug pagkab-ut sa malambuong ugma.
