The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Balubal (USTP Balubal) successfully conducted an Online Industry Stakeholders’ Forum (Academe–Industry Consultation) on May 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Zoom, marking a significant step toward the development of its proposed Bachelor of Science in Food Processing and Technology (BSFPT) program. The virtual forum gathered a diverse group of stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies, academic representatives, food technologists, and subject matter experts. The consultation served as a collaborative platform aimed at ensuring that the planned academic program remains relevant, responsive, and aligned with the evolving demands of the food processing industry.

The event was spearheaded by the campus physical education instructors in collaboration with the Supreme Student Council and partner student organizations.

USTP Balubal Hosts Vibrant Socio-Cultural Activity Showcasing Student Talent and Excellence

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines Balubal campus came alive with creativity, talent, and school spirit during its much-anticipated socio-cultural activity held on the afternoon of May 4, 2026.

The event gathered students from various organizations across the campus, highlighting a diverse array of performances and competitions that celebrated the artistic and cultural strengths of the USTP Balubal community. Among the standout performers were the Dumahi-a Dance Company, Euphonix Band, and The Capers, who captivated the audience with dynamic and engaging dance presentations throughout the program.

A major highlight of the activity was the USTP Balubal Ambassador and Ambassadress competition, featuring student representatives from the campus’s three academic programs. The candidates confidently took the stage in different segments, including department shirt exposure and sportswear and jeans attire, each showcasing their individuality, creativity, and poise.

The competition also tested the candidates’ intellect and composure through a question-and-answer portion. Each participant demonstrated confidence and clarity, delivering meaningful and timely responses that resonated with fellow “Trailblazers,” the student body of USTP.

At the culmination of the event, Mr. Ja’mare Mcleeroy Betanio, a second-year BSA student, was crowned USTP Balubal Ambassador, while Ms. Jasminerose N. Ellevera earned the title of USTP Balubal Ambassadress. First runner-up honors went to Ms. Juditha P. Eslais (BAT, 3rd year) and Mr. Bernie Domingo (BTLED, 1st year), while second runner-up titles were awarded to Ms. Zwayrenelle Dianne Baja (BTLED, 2nd year) and Mr. Jewish Andrew Dingal (BSA, 1st year).

Beyond the competition, the socio-cultural activity served as a platform for students to express their talents, foster camaraderie, and embody the spirit of “BAROG”—a core value instilled in every Trailblazer. The event not only celebrated excellence but also reinforced the importance of unity, creativity, and sportsmanship within the campus community.

Through initiatives like this, USTP Balubal continues to nurture well-rounded individuals, providing opportunities for students to thrive both academically and culturally.

𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘢𝘭, 𝘊𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘦 𝘖𝘳𝘰 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 – 𝘔𝘢𝘺 4, 2026 | Energy, unity, and vibrant school pride filled the campus grounds as the Trailblazer Fun Run 2026 successfully took place at University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines Balubal. The event, spearheaded by the Campus's Physical Education instructors, served as the culminating activity of the PATHFit program for first-year students and second year students.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Supreme Student Council and partner student organizations from three academic programs, forming part of their flagship annual event, BAROG Trailblazers. The celebration highlighted not only physical fitness but also camaraderie among students across disciplines.

The event formally opened with a lively fun run, drawing participation from students representing the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) programs. Faculty members and non-teaching personnel also joined the run, further strengthening the sense of unity and shared commitment to wellness within the campus community. Participants donned colorful shirts that distinguished their respective kilometer categories, creating a dynamic and festive atmosphere throughout the route.

Following the run, first-year students from the three programs showcased their synchronized Tabata exercise performances, demonstrating endurance, discipline, and teamwork developed through their PATHFit training.

Beyond fitness activities, the Supreme Student Council also organized the much-anticipated search for the Ambassador and Ambassadress of USTP Balubal, highlighting student confidence, personality, and school spirit.

The success of the event was made possible through the support of key community stakeholders, including the Balubal Barangay Council, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine National Police, who ensured safety and order throughout the activity.

The Trailblazer Fun Run 2026 stands as a testament to USTP Balubal’s commitment to holistic student development—promoting physical wellness, leadership, and community engagement in one dynamic celebration.
