Empowering Families: Parenting Seminar at Bulua Central School Inspires Hope in Special Needs Community
On June 27, 2025, the Bulua Central School Multi-Purpose Hall buzzed with optimism as special education teachers, parents, caregivers, and aides gathered for a transformative seminar themed "Embracing Every Journey: Celebrating Our Unique Learners."
At 12:30 PM, the event commenced with warm welcomes from Teacher Kenny Pacturan, the Special Needs Education program’s grade leader. Acknowledging the dedication of those present, she set an uplifting tone for the day.
Mrs. Irene C. Pajaron, a mother and licensed chemist, took the stage to share her heartfelt journey raising her son, Caleb, who is on the autism spectrum. She spoke candidly about her acceptance and the challenges that shaped her resilience, inspiring many in attendance.
Following Mrs. Pajaron’s moving story, Teacher Kim Legaspi, Teacher Kathleen Lagusay and Teacher Roda Cabigas presented her with a Certificate of Appreciation and a small token of gratitude.
The seminar then shifted to the SNED sensory room for the second session, where Teacher Meggie Espina, a registered occupational therapist and owner of Beyond Limits Therapy Center, enlightened attendees on the role of occupational therapy in supporting children with special needs.
She explained techniques to enhance sensory processing and promote social skills, reinforcing the importance of tailored support for each child’s unique journey.
In recognition of her impactful presentation, Teacher Espina received a Certificate of Appreciation and an incentive with a heartfelt token.
By 4:18 PM, the seminar concluded on a high note, leaving families empowered with invaluable insights and a renewed sense of community.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, Barangay Bulua’s Special Needs Education (SNED) programs from Bulua Central School and Bulua National High School hosted the groundbreaking *Youth PWD Socialization 2025 at the IFI DCENT Center. The contest, which ran from 9:55 AM to 11:09 AM, culminated in surprise performances by judges and teacher aides, leaving attendees cheering for more.
The sensory room, bathed in calming lights and tactile decor, set the stage for dynamic routines. Category A performers charmed the audience with freestyle movements tailored to their abilities, while Category B groups delivered polished, synchronized choreography. BCS SNeD Learner Wins First Place in Story Interpretation Using FSL
On February 28, 2025, Bulua Central School's Special Needs Education program delightedly announced a momentous achievement in the realm of inclusive education. The talented learner, Ranjel Jalandoni, emerged as the Division winner in the prestigious Story Interpretation Using the Filipino Sign Language (FSL) competition held on Friday at Bulua CS SNED Sensory Room. Ranjel’s triumph is a testament to her dedication and the exceptional guidance provided by her coach, Mr. Peter Paul P. Legaspi, a renowned figure known for his brilliance and expertise in coaching.
The competition saw participation from various schools, with learners from City Central School and West City Central School securing the second and third positions respectively, in a display of exceptional talent and skill in Filipino Sign Language.
Ranjel Jalandoni’s victory has not only brought pride to Bulua Central School but has also qualified her and Mr. Legaspi for the Regional Level competition, where they will represent their division. BCS SNED Learners Victorious in the CDO Paralympics Division Meet
On February 15, 2025, Bulua Central School’s Special Needs Education (SNED) learners triumphed at the Division Paralympics Games held at Xavier University Pueblo Campus Sports Complex. Coached by Mr. Peter Paul P. Legaspi and assisted by Mrs. Marissa Tomarong, the team showcased remarkable talent and determination.
Jay-A Sunn P. Bernat, a student in the school’s transition program, and Marvie, a learner with intellectual disabilities, secured third place in the 100-meter dash and long jump in their respective categories. Their success was made possible by the unwavering support of their special education teacher, Ms. Kathleen Grace A. Lagusay, who ran alongside and guided them during their events.
The Barangay Bulua Person With Disability Committee, led by Kagawad Joyce Daang and Captain Al Legaspi Jr., played a vital role by providing breakfast, snacks, and lunch for the teachers, parents, coaches, and learners.
