🛡️ PROTECT OUR SCHOOLS, STOP THE PANIC! 🛡️
Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE) is a shared responsibility of our "whole-of-society"—from learners and parents to teachers and local authorities. We are calling on everyone to be an Upstander: someone who acts and gets help from trusted adults to protect our school community.
If you receive or see a school threat or a "shooting joke" online, remember the STOP, VERIFY, and REPORT protocol:
✅ STOP & DON'T SHARE: Do not forward or repost the message. “Sharing or reposting a threat—even if you are just 'warning' others—spreads unnecessary panic and disrupts the learning environment.” Under our guidelines, spreading false information that creates commotion is a First Level Disciplinary Offense
✅ VERIFY & DOCUMENT: Take a screenshot of the post or chat. Note the sender’s name, the platform used, and the time it was sent to help authorities trace the source.
✅ REPORT IMMEDIATELY: Refer the evidence directly to your School Head, Guidance Counselor, or trusted school personnel. The school will coordinate with the PNP Anti-Cyber Crime Unit and CSWD to ensure immediate action.
⚠️ REMINDER: Making or circulating threats—even in jest—is a Third Level Offense because of its severe impact on student safety. Such acts carry heavy penalties, including Non-readmission or immediate Exclusion from the school.
Let’s use our digital voices for protection, not for panic. Together, we can keep our schools a zone of peace!
