𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒖𝒌𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒑𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 1950-1970 examines the origins and implementation of the EDCOR resettlement program in Mindanao following World War II. It explores how the promise of land became both a counterinsurgency strategy and a political tool during the administrations of Presidents Elpidio Quirino and Ramon Magsaysay. The work highlights its impact on Mindanao’s social landscape and its continuing relevance to present-day conflicts.

Faina C. Abaya-Ulindang, Ph.D., is a historian who earned her degrees from the University of the Philippines Diliman and specializes in Philippine and Mindanao studies. She authored Resettling the Huks in the Land of Promise (2017) and has contributed to award-winning historical works while publishing research on migration, land issues, and gender history. She is currently a professor at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan and actively involved in national and regional historical research org.
