The Board and Management Program culminated yesterday June 17, 2026, at CLIMBS Quezon City, as cooperative leaders conclude two days of learning, dialogue, and leadership development centered on board excellence and executive alignment.

As the program draws to a close, participants reflect on key insights gained on governance, strategic leadership, and the vital partnership between boards and management. Equipped with strengthened perspectives and practical approaches, they return to their respective cooperatives better prepared to foster organizational excellence and advance their shared mission.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗛𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 was successfully held yesterday, June 16, 2026, at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center, Makati City!

The forum brought together development partners, government agencies, cooperatives, civil society organizations, private sector institutions, and academia to discuss evolving multi-hazard risks, protection gaps, and opportunities for more inclusive and resilience-oriented insurance and risk financing solutions in the Philippines.

According to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), 𝟵𝟭% 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀. Solar PV is approximately 41% cheaper, while onshore wind is 53% cheaper than the lowest-cost fossil fuel options.

The DOE's Philippine Energy Plan targets 15.3 GW of new solar installations by 2030 — nearly 10 times the current installed solar capacity.

As of June 2025, the Philippines had generated 22% of its power from renewable sources. The target is 35% by 2030. The gap is real — and closing it requires rapid, distributed deployment.
