IN PHOTOS: CCS Pinning Ceremony 2026

On August 5, 2026, the College of Computer Studies (CCS) celebrated its annual Pinning Ceremony at the Xavier University Chapel, recognizing another important milestone in the academic journey of its students. Joined by their families, faculty members, and university staff, the event honored the dedication and perseverance that brought the students one step closer to their future professions.

The celebration opened with a Holy Mass, followed by the formal program after registration. Preliminaries of the ceremony featured the Processional, Opening Prayer, National Anthem, and Xavier University Hymn, before welcome remarks acknowledged the students' commitment and accomplishments throughout their years in the college.

The centerpiece of the ceremony was the presentation of the pins, a meaningful tradition symbolizing the students' preparedness to begin their professional training and uphold the values of the computing and information technology profession. Concluding the event were closing remarks that congratulated the students and encouraged them, as they continue their journey toward becoming future professionals.

More than a ceremonial tradition, the CCS Pinning Ceremony served as a celebration of perseverance, growth, and new beginnings. As these students move forward, may they carry the knowledge, values, and passion they have developed at Xavier University and continue making meaningful contributions to the field of technology.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus and a model of a life devoted to God and to others.

May his prayer, “Give me Thy love and Thy grace, for this is sufficient for me,” remind us of the grace that sustains us and the call to seek God in all things.

On July 29, 2026, as 𝗢𝗿𝗦𝗲𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 came to a close, student organizations 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 at the soccer field for the OrSem Org Tour. Under the Natural Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (NSET) cluster, the 𝙓𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 (𝙓𝘾𝙄𝙏𝙚𝙎) proudly showcased the organization to the freshies.

As the excitement of the Org Tour swept across the field, XCITeS welcomed the freshies with a fun, engaging, and refreshing introduction that kept the energy high despite the scorching heat.

IN PHOTOS: A new day has officially been UNLOCKED as Xavier University (XU) welcomes the new batch of undergraduate freshmen to the annual Orientation Seminar (OrSem), carrying the theme “Unlocked” for the School Year 2026-2027.

In the morning hours of July 27, numerous freshmen lined up outside the University Gymnasium; over 100 freshmen wizards were recorded in attendance on the first day of OrSem. Upon registration, the freshmen wizards received OrSem booklets as their guide throughout the entire 3-day annual event, wands that served as props for the college chant and other interactive activities, and were ushered to the designated seating areas of their respective courses.

The event commenced with a Eucharistic Celebration, which marked the freshmen’s first Mass as college students. Following the Mass, an academic convocation took place by the university officials to formally welcome them. To conclude the morning event, a safety and security orientation was given to ensure the freshmen’s safety as they went around campus for the activities facilitated by the different colleges.

The afternoon was filled with cheers and excitement as the CCS College Assembly began at the XU Little Theater. Students were introduced to the faculty, the co-curricular and extra-curricular organizations, and the council associated with CCS. By the end of the program, students were given keychains as souvenirs for the whole event.

With OrSems’ “Unlocked”, the theme of the annual event emphasizes embracing the possibility of new opportunities and connections filled with purpose as they begin their journey as college students in Xavier University.
