​The POPDEV Club of Macabalan National High School participated in the 2026 POPDEV Club Convergence with OSAEC & Online Safety held at the City Tourism Hall, Cagayan de Oro City!

​Representing our school were PopDev President Chanelly Ampo, along with Peer Educators Keh S. Ramirez and Nina Quiem. Together with them is MNHS PopDev Moderator - Ma'am Lyneth M. Carbonero

🙏🤲 MACABALAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: AUGUST 2026 HOLY MASS 🤲🙏

Faith, unity, and reflection took center stage as Macabalan National High School held its Monthly First Wednesday Mass yesterday, August 12, 2026.

​Officiated by Rev. Fr. Ramir Culanse, the celebration gathered students, teachers, and staff in solemn prayer and gratitude. While catholic students attended the holy mass at the chapel, non-catholic students remained at the school premises for spiritual enrichment sessions.

​May the lessons and blessings from yesterday's celebration continue to guide our school community in wisdom and grace.

Macabalan National High School classes will resume on August 17, 2026.

DUE to the high heat index monitoring by PAGASA-Mindanao PRSD in it’s Laguindingan Airport, Misamis Oriental Station as of August 12, 2026, with a 2-day forecast of 43 degrees celsius (DANGER CLASSIFICATION) for August 13 and 14, 2026, CDO City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy will suspend classes in all public schools from pre-school to high school levels on Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14, 2026, respectively.

However, suspension of classes for private pre-school to high school levels and higher education institutions (HEI's) shall be left to the sound wisdom and discretion of their respective principals/administrators/school heads.

An Executive Order formalizing the class suspension will follow.

​The Division of Cagayan de Oro reminds all learners, parents, teachers, and community members that a safe and conducive learning environment begins with responsible digital citizenship.

​Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026 under the Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment (ESMLE) initiative through the Learner Rights and Protection Office (LRPO), everyone is urged to strictly follow the Upstander Action Plan when encountering online school threats or unverified news.

​📢 “Sharing or reposting a threat - even if you are just 'warning' others - spreads unnecessary panic and disrupts the learning environment.”

​Here is how you can handle online threats and unverified reports responsibly:

​🛑 PHASE 1: Stop the Spread
​Stop & Don't Share: Do not forward or post unverified threats or fake news on social media.
​Take Note: Spreading unverified threats or misinformation is classified as a First Level Disciplinary Offense.

​📱 PHASE 2: Document and Report
​Verify & Document: Take clear screenshots showing the sender’s name/profile, the platform used, and the exact timestamp.
​Report Immediately: Submit your evidence directly to your School Head, Guidance Counselor, or trusted school personnel.
​Inter-agency action: Schools will coordinate directly with the PNP Anti-Cyber Crime Unit and CSWD for formal investigation.

​⚖️ PHASE 3: Understand the Consequences
​Threats are Not Jokes: Circulating threats - even if intended as a prank or joke - they are classified as a Third Level Offense carrying the highest disciplinary severity.
​Severe Penalties: Offenses involving the creation or circulation of threats carry penalties including immediate Exclusion and Non-Readmission.

​As our future educators take their first steps into actual classroom teaching environments, this orientation marks a major milestone in their journey toward becoming passionate, skilled, and transformative teachers. The orientation was conducted with Macabalan NHS School Principal - Sir Manuel L. Lincaro, Jr., and together with the student teachers is there Field Study instructor - Sir Arniel P. Bangalao.

​From observing classroom dynamics to learning best pedagogical practices, our PHINMA COC education majors are ready to inspire, lead, and make a difference! 💼✨

​A total of 879,533 public school teachers across the Philippines are set to receive voice lapel devices, as announced by Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sonny Angara.

​Supported by the Office of the President Social Fund, this initiative aims to lessen physical strain on our educators, improve classroom audio quality, and ensure that every lesson is heard clearly by all students.

Zonta Club of Metro Cagayan de Oro & Environs in Macabalan National High School 🍬📝🍭

The Zonta Club of Metro CDO & Environs - an organization committed to promoting the welfare, protection, and empowerment of women, children, and families through various community-based service and advocacy programs, conducted a brief Advocacy Drive in Macabalan National High School. The advocacy drive aims to provide young learners with simple yet meaningful reminders that promote positive values, healthy lifestyle choices, personal safety, kindness, respect, and good citizenship.

Learners of Macabalan NHS, thru their advisers, received a small pack of candies with an attached advocacy note. It will serve as a token to encourage the children to read and remember the advocacy message.
