Xavier Ateneo Launches Inaugural College of Engineering Fair 2026
Reinforcing its commitment to technical excellence and apostolic service, the Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan College of Engineering officially launched its first-ever Xavier Ateneo College Fair 2026 on February 13 at SM Downtown Premiere.
The landmark event integrated the college’s rigorous academic standards with community engagement, bringing together senior engineering students, faculty, and aspirants from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand of various Senior High Schools (SHS). More than a localized exhibition, the fair served as a strategic showcase of how Xavier Ateneo Engineering functions as a catalyst for societal development and nation-building.
Central to the fair was the Final Year Project Display and Presentation (FYPDP), a cornerstone of the college’s curriculum and a mandatory rite of passage for graduating student-engineers. This peer-reviewed exhibition serves as a public defense of the "knowledge creation" fostered within the university's laboratories.
Projects were evaluated based on high-quality research metrics, with all six established undergraduate programs-- Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, vying for Golden Awards within their respective departments. The display highlighted the practical applications of engineering theory in solving contemporary Filipino challenges, from sustainable infrastructure to industrial optimization.
Running parallel to the research presentations was the College Exposure module, designed to provide SHS students with a firsthand look at the Ateneo engineering experience. The mall's activity center was transformed into a competitive arena featuring The Bridge Building Contest where it tests structural integrity and physics; Mech Quest & PitchEng’g to challenge students’ mechanical ingenuity and entrepreneurial communication and the last but not the least is the Battle of the Brains where a rigorous quiz bowl spanning mathematics and general sciences.
The exposure also served as the official introductory platform for the college's newest program: Logistics and Supply Chain Engineering, a timely addition to the curriculum addressing the global demand for optimized systems and operations management.
The fair culminated in an awarding ceremony that celebrated the most outstanding capstone projects per cluster and department. Beyond academic accolades, the event emphasized the "Magis" spirit-- doing more for others through professional competence.
The energy of the fair reached its peak during the highly anticipated grand raffle draw, where Mr. Aristotle Mabale of Gusa Regional Science High School - X emerged as the big winner, walking away with a brand-new iPad 11th Gen.
As Xavier Ateneo continues to lead in engineering education in Northern Mindanao, the College Fair is set to become an annual tradition. By opening its doors to the public and the next generation of innovators, the College of Engineering ensures that the formation of "men and women for others" remains at the forefront of technological advancement.
The event is scheduled to return next academic year, promising an even broader scope of research and inter-institutional collaboration.
