Marami sa atin na mga hikers ay escapist. Umaakyat para kalimutang sandali ang masalimuot na buhay sa lungsod.

Ten years ago around this time, a friend invited me to climb just the two of us, as we always did. When emergency climbs like that happened it would be because one of us had a problem.

Pero hindi namin pinag-uusapan ang problema...dinadaan na lang sa inuman at tawanan sa socials. Ramdam ko ang mga pahiwatig nya, pero gaya ng kinagawian, we wouldn't discuss problems kaya panay ang block ko sa mga pahiwatig nya...lalo na't tungkol yun sa nanganganib na pag-ibig.

Pagbaba namin ng Linggo mula sa bundok ng San Cristobal, isang tapik sa balikat ang paalam nya bago sumakay ng bus. At isang sulyap sa ngiting hindi makakalimutan.

Kinabukasan, nagpaalam na sya!

Kagaya ng marami sa mga circle of friends at pamilya nya, I also thought na ako ang pinili nyang pag-paalaman. Ngunit may isa ding anggulo kung saan hindi pagpapaalam ang pakay nya. I would like to advise all of you not to make the same mistake I made. If God gave you the gift of words, the gift of being a good friend and counselor, use it no matter how silly it would seem. Remember that sometimes, the prelude to su***de could be as positive as a carefree smile.
