𝗣𝗡𝗨𝗩 𝗚𝗖𝗖𝗥𝗛 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗛𝗜𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝟮.𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗜𝗩 & 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗺𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The PNU Visayas – GCCRH proudly took part in paHIValo 2.0, a community-based service-learning initiative led by Third Year Bachelor in Social Science Education students.

This meaningful collaboration was made possible through partnerships with CSWD-Cadiz, the Local Youth Development Council, Rainbow Alliance, and the Barangay Council of Brgy. Tiglawigan, Cadiz City headed by Hon. Loreta Escala, together with the SK Council led by Hon. Jonessa Marrinez. The project was further supported by Cadiz City District Hospital and the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.

Project paHIValo reached 70 youth participants, who actively engaged in learning sessions and activities focused on HIV and AIDS awareness, prevention, and advocacy building.

The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Lyka Kymm Escora-Garcia, HACT Chairman, Cadiz City District Hospital, together with her team; Eldren Polines, Project Leader of paHIValo 2025; John Chris Anthony Meneses and Juvy Ann Geruldo, Digital Artists; and Mr. Jerand John Magbanua, CSWD Youth Staff and President of the Rainbow Alliance.

Bridging classroom learning and community action, paHIValo 2.0 transforms awareness of pressing global and local issues concerning the youth into empowerment initiative—shaping informed, compassionate, and proactive global citizens committed to inclusive health.

The Global Citizenship Education Cooperation Centre Regional Hub (GCCRH) – Negros Island Region in collaboration with the Office of the Dean for Academics and the Hub (ODAH) and Extension, Alumni, Linkages, and Internationalization Unit (EALIU) of PNU Visayas, proudly invites participants of the 1st NIR GCED Youth Congress to take part in the GCCRH – NIR Prize for Best Youth-Led GCED Projects 2026.

This initiative aims to (a) recognize exemplary youth-led projects that demonstrate strong alignment with GCED principles and respond to local and global challenges, (b) support youth in transforming their Congress proposals into actionable community initiatives, and (c) model the best projects that can be replicated across schools, organizations, and communities in the NIR.

𝐏𝐍𝐔𝐕 𝐆𝐂𝐂𝐑𝐇 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐕𝐀𝐖-𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐚

First launched in 2025 as an academic service-learning initiative of third-year preservice Social Science teachers, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐕𝐀𝐖-𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐚 continues this year with enhanced strategies grounded in community needs and informed by lessons learned from its initial implementation.

This year’s project was made possible through the collaboration of the PNU Faculty and Staff Multipurpose Cooperative, the Philippine National Police – Cadiz City, the PNUV GCED Cooperation Centre Regional Hub, the Barangay Council of Brgy. Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental headed by Hon. Vicente Villacin Jr. and its SK Council led by Hon. Ramoneth Garcia.

With the invaluable contributions of resource persons—Kgwd. Jerry Artuyo, PMSg. Jennifer S. Tenerife, Ms. Mika Regala, PMSg. Jorielyn T. Enoc, Prof. Ramea Romero, and Dr. Noel Marañon—whose works and advocacies align with the project’s objectives, PahiVAW-a CLA ensures meaningful learning and active engagement among community women and youth participants.

The project conveys the significance of translating academic learning and partnerships into action in addressing violence against women and their children (VAWC), fostering youth participation, and empowering women and girls.
