On March 17, 2025, Grade 12 HUMSS students from Sections ๐ป๐๐๐๐, ๐ญ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐
๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ came together in Barangay Daga, Cadiz City, to bring their community engagement project, ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐๐ (๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ง๐ค๐ฌ๐ฉ๐, ๐๐ค๐ช๐ฉ๐, ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐), to life. This event, held in celebration of Womenโs Month, was a powerful reminder of the importance of coming together to make a difference. It wasnโt just about the activities; it was about fostering a sense of unity, purpose, and empowerment for both the youth and the community.
The day began with a Mangrove Planting and Clean-Up Drive. Every participant, consisting of students and local community members, was active in promoting, enhancing, and sustaining the local area environment through this engagement. The mangrove trees planted that day are vital for coastal protection and provide a safe habitat for marine life, making the effort not only meaningful but essential for preserving the natural beauty of Barangay Daga.
A highlight of the day was the Womenโs Month talk by ๐๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฝ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ผ๐. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, offering a fresh perspective on the progress weโve made in empowering women and the work that still needs to be done. It wasnโt just a speech; it was a call to action for everyone to continue advocating for gender equality and social justice. As the day went on, a feeding program for the residents of Barangay Daga brought smiles to faces and helped nourish the community.
The fun didnโt stop thereโstudents participated in the EmpowHER Race, a dynamic Amazing Race-style event that encouraged teamwork and friendly competition. It was a fun, energetic way to bring everyone together while celebrating the spirit of empowerment and unity. Watching everyone work together, laugh, and support each other was truly heartwarming.
None of this would have been possible without the support of the ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ community. A huge thank you to the local officials and residents for welcoming us and allowing the event to take place in their area. This event was a beautiful reminder that when we come together for a common causeโwhether itโs environmental preservation, gender empowerment, or community serviceโwe create lasting change. It was a day filled with learning, action, and connection, and weโre excited to continue working together toward a brighter, more inclusive future.
