Philippine Normal University Visayas (PNUV) bloomed with laughter and energy as the university community gathered for Pagbugkos 2026 on August 19, 2026.

The celebration commenced with a parade of memes, where first-year students and Program-Based Organizations (PBOs) arrived in meme-inspired outfits. Drawing inspiration from popular internet icons, the participants brought humor and personality to the parade.

The opening message of Executive Director and Provost Dr. Ralger D. Jocson Jr., delivered by Dr. Richelle A. Delmo, Head of the PNUV Student Affairs and Services Unit, reminded students that being part of the community comes with the responsibility to act mindfully.

This was followed by the oath-taking of accredited and reaccredited PBOs and Interest Clubs (ICs), where student leaders pledged their commitment before their fellow PNUans. The yell competition and meme icon presentation then took place, with each section showcasing their creativity and teamwork.

In the afternoon, the celebration continued with the Amazing Race. Seven stations featured a variety of challenges and collaborative tasks, each with time limits and playful penalties. Participants raced against the clock, solved puzzles, and worked together to complete each challenge, turning each station into an opportunity to strengthen their camaraderie.
