𝟰𝙏𝙃 𝘾𝘼𝙋𝙋𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙋𝙄𝙉𝙉𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘾𝙀𝙍𝙀𝙈𝙊𝙉𝙔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ✈️

The 4th Capping and Pinning Ceremony 2026 was held on August 20, 2026, at the SVCC Events Center, under the theme “Building Bridges: Integrity, Commitment, and Service Flying Towards a Future Tourism Industry,” marking a significant milestone in the journey of the 3rd Year BSTM students as future tourism professionals.

The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Marina Chavez, Directress; Mr. Jay Chavez, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Emelyn Wagan, College Dean; Mr. Keydee Manangan, OSAS Director; Ms. Caila Opina, Guest Speaker and SVCC alumna; Ms. Mikee Marbacias, CHTM Program Head; and the CHTM faculty members.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Marina Chavez emphasized the growing opportunities within the tourism industry, reminding students of the important role they can play in contributing to the country’s tourism development.

Mr. Jay Chavez reflected on the San Juanico Bridge, connecting its significance to the theme of Building Bridges. He shared how tourism became a meaningful connection for the Chavez family and related the bridge to the students’ journey—linking their academic experiences today with the people, responsibilities, and realities they will encounter as tourism professionals.

Meanwhile, Ms. Caila Opiña, an SVCC alumna and former OJT trainee at the Department of Tourism who was later absorbed after graduation and now works as a tour guide, encouraged students to take courageous steps toward their dreams. She reminded them that the road ahead may not always be certain or direct, but every challenge, opportunity, and experience can shape them into stronger professionals.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt message from Program Head Ms. Mikee Marbacias. She shared career advice for the future and reminded students to always honor and thank their parents and loved ones whose sacrifices, support, and unwavering belief helped them reach this milestone.

Held yesterday, August 20, 2026, at the SVCC Events Center, with the theme “Building Bridges: Integrity, Commitment, and Service Flying Towards Future Tourism Industry,” the ceremony marked another meaningful step in your journey toward becoming future tourism professionals.

The program was graced by Mrs. Marina Chaves, Directress, who delivered the opening remarks; Dr. Emelyn Wagan, College Dean; Mr. Jay Chaves, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Ms. Mikee Marbacias, Program Head; Mr. Keydee Manangan, OSAS Director; and our guest speaker, Ms. Caila Opina. We also extend our appreciation to the dedicated faculty members of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management for their presence and continued support.
