Ang 4SEDS-B, ay taos-pusong nakikiisa at nagpapaabot ng malalim na pakikiramay sa naiwang pamilya ng ating mahal na Tagapagtatag ng PnC Social Science Society at Dating Dekana ng ating Kolehiyo, 𝐃𝐨𝐜. 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐁. 𝐏𝐫𝐞.

Isang malaking karangalan para sa aming seksyon ang maging estudyante ng isang mahusay at dedikadong propesor na tulad niya. Ang kaniyang husay sa pagtuturo at pagmamalasakit sa aming pagkatuto ang nagsilbing liwanag at gabay sa aming pag-aaral. Ang kaniyang pamanang edukasyon at paglilingkod ay hindi kailanman mabubura at patuloy naming isasabuhay. Paalam at maraming salamat sa lahat ng inspirasyon at dedikasyon, mahal naming Doc Pre!🤍🕊️

It is with deep sorrow that we announce to the whole Soksay community the passing of our beloved professor and founder, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗕. 𝗣𝗿𝗲.

As one of the pioneering professors of our institution, she laid the foundation for the excellence and integrity we uphold today. She also served as the 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, further sharing her unwavering commitment, talent, and passion for teaching.

Her leadership, kindness, and wisdom inspired many generations of Dangal ng Bayan, making her not only a mentor, but also a source of encouragement for her colleagues and students.

On behalf of the 𝗣𝗻𝗖 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and everyone who mourns with us.

Together with 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗲 𝗖. By bringing the localized narratives of Cabuyao’s elderly to the global stage, Mr. Rebosura has not only contributed significantly to the field of social research but has also proven that local community issues hold global relevance.

Matapos ang tatlong taon ng walang katapusang puyat, tambak na requirements, at mga hamon sa ating pag-aaral, heto na tayo sa pintuan ng ating huling yugto. Hindi naging madali ang byaheng ito, pero dahil sa ating pagtutulungan bilang isang section, matagumpay nating naitawid ang bawat semestre. Mula sa mga tawanan sa hallway hanggang sa seryosong pagrereview, ang bawat sandali ay naging bahagi na ng ating matatag na pundasyon. Ngayon, buong pagmamalaki nating masasabi na handa na ang 3 𝐒𝐄𝐃𝐒-𝐁 na harapin ang huling hamon ng kolehiyo.

Sa pagpasok natin sa ika-apat na taon, baon natin ang mga aral at alaalang nabuo natin sa loob ng tatlong taong pagsasama. Malayo na ang ating narating, pero alam nating mas marami pang tagumpay ang naghihintay sa atin sa dulo ng byaheng ito.

Muli natin ipinakita na 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐬𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐮𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐲. Hanggang sa marami pang tagumpay, Sulong Soksay!✊🏻🤎

Remembering 𝐅𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐳 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬 (𝐅𝐕𝐑), 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟐–𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟖) a leader known for discipline, reform, and nation-building. Born on 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟖, 𝟏𝟗𝟐𝟖 in 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐧, FVR grew up in a family deeply rooted in public service. His father, Narciso Ramos, was a respected lawyer, legislator, and diplomat who later served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs. From an early age, Ramos was exposed to leadership, public duty, and love for country.

FVR pursued military education and graduated from the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟗𝟓𝟎, becoming one of the distinguished Filipino graduates of the prestigious academy. He later earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois. His military career was long and decorated, serving the country during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, gaining experience in leadership, discipline, and international military cooperation.

Before becoming president, Ramos held several key positions in government and the military. He served as 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲 (𝟏𝟗𝟕𝟐–𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟔) and later became 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟔–𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟖). During one of the most critical moments in Philippine history, Ramos played a vital role in the 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, when he and other military leaders withdrew support from the regime of Ferdinand Marcos, helping restore democracy in the country.

After the revolution, Ramos continued serving the government as 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 (𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟖–𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟏) under Corazon Aquino. His leadership and experience eventually led to his election as 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟐.

During his presidency, Ramos focused on economic reform, national unity, and modernization. One of his biggest challenges was the severe power crisis in the early 1990s, which caused frequent blackouts across the country. Through strong policy decisions like the Electric Power Crisis Act of 1993, his administration was able to stabilize electricity supply and restore economic confidence.

FVR also promoted economic liberalization, infrastructure development, and foreign investment, helping the Philippines experience economic growth during the mid-1990s. His vision called “Philippines 2000” aimed to transform the country into a newly industrialized nation by strengthening industries, modernizing infrastructure, and improving global competitiveness.

Another important achievement of Ramos was his commitment to peace and national reconciliation. In 1996, his administration signed a historic peace agreement with the Moro National Liberation Front, which helped reduce decades of conflict in Mindanao and opened opportunities for development and cooperation.

Even after his presidency, FVR remained active in public life, advocating for good governance, leadership, and national unity. He also served as a mentor to younger leaders and continued supporting programs related to peace, economic reform, and regional cooperation.

On 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐, Fidel V. Ramos passed away in Makati City at the age of 94. His life journey from soldier to president remains a powerful example of discipline, resilience, and dedication to the Filipino people.

Ang kumperensyang ito ay hindi lamang naging isang akademikong gawain, kundi isang espasyo ng pagkatuto at kamalayang panlipunan kung saan ang kabataan ay patuloy na hinuhubog upang maging mapanuri, responsable, at mulat na mamamayan.

Sa ilalim ng temang “Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Kahalagahan: Mulat na Kabataan bilang Tagapagtanggol ng Katotohanan,” binibigyang-halaga ng 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗦𝗰𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗻) na hindi lamang ang kamalayan sa lipunan, kung hindi pati ang pag-aaruga sa kapwa at sa sarili. 🤝

“Kasaysayan, Kultura, at Kahalagahan: Mulat na Kabataan bilang Tagapagtanggol ng Katotohanan,” inaanyayahan tayong magnilay at kumilos bilang kabataang may kamalayan sa ugat ng ating pagkatao at pananagutan sa lipunan. 🌱

Isa sa ating mga tagapagsalita ay si 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐂. 𝐓𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐝, isang g**o sa Araling Panlipunan at Anthropology enthusiast na patuloy na nagsusulong ng mapanuring pag-iisip at mas malalim na pag-unawa sa lipunang ginagalawan.

Sa kanyang talakayan na pinamagatang “Kultura at Kamalayan: Paano Hinuhubog ng Kasaysayan ang Paninindigan ng Kabataang Pilipino,” sama-sama nating alamin kung paanong ang kasaysayan at kultura ay hindi lamang alaala ng nakaraan, kundi mga puwersang humuhubog sa paninindigan, identidad, at pagkilos ng kabataan sa kasalukuyan. 🕰️✊
