Hestia Technology Limited, founded in Hong Kong in 2018, is revolutionizing kitchens with its advanced robotic systems. Their latest robots handle all cooking tasks—from getting ingredients to serving and cleaning—completely on their own.
The company plans to produce 30,000 units and generate $256 million (HK$2 billion) in revenue. Hestia’s fully automated kitchen includes a larder, conveyor belt, and multicooker. This setup can replace up to three chefs and prepare over 200 dishes, including regional Chinese and Italian cuisine.
Users select a dish on a tablet, and the robot handles everything: retrieving ingredients, cooking, and plating. Afterward, it cleans up in under 15 seconds, readying the kitchen for the next dish.
Hestia’s systems cut energy costs by up to 50%, labor costs by 66%, oil usage by 60%, and water use by 65%. They also reduce common chef injuries, allowing kitchen staff to concentrate on creative tasks and customer service.
Hestia’s AI-powered robots promise high consistency in every dish, overcoming the quality fluctuations often seen in traditional kitchens.

The “world’s first robot lawyer” will take a case in a US court next month to help a defendant fight a traffic ticket.
The artificial intelligence (AI) legal assistant, dubbed as “the world’s first robot lawyer” by the startup that created it, DoNotPay, will run on a smartphone and listen to court arguments in real-time before telling the defendant what to say via headphones.
The hearing is slated to take place sometime next month, but the makers of the robot lawyer are not disclosing the location of the court or the name of the defendant.
Science and technology publication New Scientist reported that the ticket at the center of the trailblazing case was issued for speeding, and the defendant will only say in court what the AI instructs them to say.
Should they lose the case, DoNoPay has agreed to cover any fines, according to the company’s founder and CEO, Joshua Browder.
Browder, a Stanford University-educated computer scientist, launched DoNotPay in 2015 as a chatbot that provides legal advice to consumers dealing with late fees or fines, but the company pivoted to AI in 2020.
He said it took a long time to train DoNotPay’s AI assistant on case law covering a wide array of topics.
“We’re trying to minimize our legal liability… and it’s not good if it actually twists facts and is too manipulative,” Browder told the outlet.
The AI app’s software was adjusted so it does not automatically react to everything it hears in court. Instead, it will listen in on the arguments and analyze them before instructing the defendant how to respond.
Browder explained that his ultimate goal is to have his app replace some lawyers altogether in order to save defendants money.
“The goal of this company is to make the $200 billion legal profession free for consumers,” Browder said.
