Demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and community collaboration, Bungro-Margaay Elementary School (BMES) spearheaded the SIBOL: BMES Tree-Planting Activity on July 31, 2026, bringing together school stakeholders to establish a fruit-bearing orchard that will benefit present and future generations of learners.

The activity, conducted within the school grounds, coincided with the Second Monthly Brigada Eskwela for School Year 2026โ€“2027 and was participated in by members of the School Governance Council (SGC), School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA), faculty members, Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG), parents, and other community stakeholders.

As part of the initiative, participants planted seedlings of calamansi, guyabano, papaya, and pomegranate in designated areas around the campus. The trees are expected to serve as a sustainable source of nutritious fruits for learners in the years ahead while providing natural shade that will enhance the school's learning environment.

The activity underscores BMES's commitment to promoting environmental sustainability through shared responsibility and active stakeholder engagement. It also supports the school's efforts to cultivate a cleaner, greener, and more learner-friendly campus while encouraging the community to take an active role in school development.

Beyond improving the physical environment, the SIBOL Tree-Planting Activity provided an opportunity for learners, parents, teachers, and stakeholders to work together in fostering environmental awareness and instilling the value of caring for nature. The initiative reflects the spirit of Brigada Eskwela, where volunteerism and collaboration continue to strengthen partnerships in support of quality basic education.

Through initiatives such as SIBOL, Bungro-Margaay Elementary School remains steadfast in creating a sustainable school environment that nurtures not only academic growth but also environmental responsibility, ensuring that the trees planted today will provide food, shade, and lasting benefits for the entire school community in the years to come.

Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and learner-friendly environment, Bungro-Margaay Elementary School successfully continued its Monthly Brigada for Cleanliness on June 26, 2026, bringing together teachers, non-teaching personnel, learners, and parents in a shared effort to strengthen environmental stewardship within the school community.

Held from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the activity mobilized stakeholders to clean classrooms, school grounds and common areas while promoting environmental responsibility and shared ownership of the school campus. The initiative forms part of the school's continuing effort to sustain cleanliness beyond the annual Brigada Eskwela program.

Learners, under the supervision of their respective class advisers, cleaned their classrooms by sweeping floors, wiping desks and chairs, cleaning windows and organizing learning materials. Designated groups simultaneously worked on hallways, restrooms, playgrounds, gardens and other outdoor areas to improve the overall condition of the school.

Proper waste management was also emphasized during the activity. Participants practiced waste segregation by separating recyclable, non-recyclable and compostable materials using designated bins, reinforcing responsible waste disposal among learners and school personnel.

Teaching personnel supervised and monitored the cleanup activities, while non-teaching personnel provided logistical and operational support. Parents and guardians also participated in the activity, strengthening the partnership between the school and the community while modeling the importance of volunteerism and environmental stewardship for learners.

Participants brought cleaning tools and materials, including gloves, face masks, cleaning cloths, brooms, dustpans, sacks, brush cutters, bolo knives and other appropriate equipment to ensure the efficient completion of assigned tasks.

The June Monthly Brigada reflects Bungro-Margaay Elementary School's continuing commitment to fostering discipline, teamwork and environmental awareness among its stakeholders. Through sustained community participation, the school continues to create a learning environment that is clean, safe and conducive to quality education.

Classrooms at Bungro-Margaay Elementary School (BMES) came alive with the colors of the Philippine flag as learners participated in creative activities commemorating the 128th Philippine Independence Day on June 11, a day before the actual day of celebration.

In a simple yet meaningful observance, learners from all grade levels crafted and colored their own Philippine flags under the supervision of their respective class advisers. The learner-made flags were later displayed in classrooms, along school corridors, and around the school grounds, creating a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of patriotism and national pride.

The school-based activity was conducted to help learners better understand the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made by Filipino heroes in securing the country's freedom.

Throughout the celebration, advisers facilitated discussions on the meaning of the Philippine flag and the importance of preserving the values of unity, courage, and love of country. Learners enthusiastically participated in the activity, showcasing both their creativity and appreciation for the nation's history.

The colorful displays transformed various areas of the campus into reminders of the country's journey toward independence. As rows of handmade flags fluttered across corridors and learning spaces, they served as symbols of the learners' respect for the nation's heritage.

School officials emphasized that meaningful learning can take place through simple activities that connect classroom lessons with important national events. By participating in the celebration, learners were given the opportunity to express their patriotism while deepening their understanding of Philippine history.

Through this initiative, BMES joined the nation in honoring the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence, fostering among its learners a stronger sense of national identity and pride as young Filipinos.

Ngayong ika-12 ng Hunyo, sama-sama nating ginugunita ang Araw ng Kalayaan, isang mahalagang araw na nagpapaalala sa atin ng tapang, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal ng ating mga bayani para sa ating bayan.

Freedom is more than a part of our history. It is a responsibility that we continue to uphold through respect, integrity, and service to others. Bilang mga Pilipino, nawa'y patuloy nating pahalagahan ang kalayaang ating tinatamasa sa pamamagitan ng pagiging mabuting mamamayan at pagmamahal sa ating bansa.

Sa BMES, we celebrate not only our nation's independence but also the values that unite us as one Filipino community. Nawa'y maging inspirasyon sa ating mga mag-aaral ang kabayanihan at sakripisyo ng ating mga ninuno upang maging responsable, makabayan, at produktibong mamamayan ng kinabukasan.

"Ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang isang karapatan, kundi isang pananagutang dapat nating pangalagaan."
