A Meaningful School Visit from DepEd Top Officials 🫡

Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School welcomed today, August 20, 2026, a distinguished delegation of top officials from the Department of Education who visited the school to observe the implementation of its innovative and specialized learning programs.

Leading the delegation was Usec. Edson Byron K. Sy, Undersecretary for Finance of the Department of Education. His presence at the school provided an opportunity to witness firsthand the school’s efforts in delivering innovative, relevant, and learner-centered education through its specialized programs.

Together with USec. Sy were Dir. Cristito A. Eco, CESO III, Regional Director, DepEd Region VI; Dr. Miguel Mac D. Aposin, CESO V, Assistant Regional Director, DepEd Region VI; Dr. Ruby Therese P. Almencion, CESO VI, OIC–Schools Division Superintendent, DepEd SDO Iloilo; Atty. Fevi S. Fanco, EdD, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Eugenio L. Mallorca, OIC–Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; and Dr. Nestor Paul M. Pingil, CID Chief, DepEd SDO Iloilo.

The officials observed the conduct of laboratory classes under the Special Program in Technical-Vocational Education (SPTVE), highlighting the school’s commitment to providing learners with meaningful, hands-on experiences that develop practical and industry-relevant competencies.

The delegation also visited a Khan Academy class under the Special Program in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), showcasing the integration of digital learning resources and technology-enhanced instruction in strengthening students’ academic skills and fostering independent learning.

The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by Dr. Santiago M. Haro, Public Schools District Supervisor of the Schools District of Cabatuan I; Mr. Valente L. Lauro, School Principal IV; and the school’s other key officials.

The visit served as a meaningful opportunity to showcase the dedication of the Cabatuan NCHS learning community to innovation, quality instruction, and responsive education. More importantly, it reaffirmed the shared commitment of DepEd officials and educators to providing every learner with future-ready learning experiences.
