CCES Mathletes Win Silver at 2026 Regional Area Finals Math Challenge

Two teams from Cabatuan Central Elementary School (CCES) secured second-place finishes at the 2026 Regional Area Finals of the Math Challenge, held at Iloilo National High School, February 21.

The Grade 1 Team, composed of Skylette Thea Calantoc, Zane Geacaniga, and Kenshin Talamera, showcased strong problem-solving skills and teamwork to earn the silver medal.

“I was very happy and thankful to our coaches, Ma’am Analyn Mijares and Ma’am Arlene Lerdon, for their dedication and patience in teaching us techniques to solve problems faster,” shared Calantoc.

Meanwhile, the Grade 6 Team, represented by Lei Albolote, Ma. Chloe Gallego, and Angel Grace Rabago, also delivered an impressive performance, securing second place in their category.

“It was an unexpected win,” said Albolote. “Although we had limited review sessions with our coach, Ma’am Sanshine Boots Marie Mailla, due to other school activities before the competition, with God’s guidance, we were able to pull through.”

All winners received medals and certificates of recognition in acknowledgment of their remarkable achievement.

The 2026 Math Challenge was organized by the Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) in partnership with Asian MathSci League, Inc. (AMSLI).

CCES kicks off Brigada Eskwela ‘25

Cabatuan Central Elementary School (CCES) officially began its Brigada Eskwela 2025 on June 9 at the school gymnasium.

Many people came to help and show support, including parents, teachers, learners, local leaders, fire fighters, and private organizations from the community.

Dr. Santiago M. Haro, Public Schools District Supervisor, shared the theme of this year’s Brigada Eskwela: “Sama-sama para sa Bayang Bumabasa.” He reminded everyone that Brigada Eskwela is not just about cleaning the school, but also about helping children learn to read and do well in school.

Dr. Regie B. Torejo, school principal, explained the plans for the weeklong Brigada Eskwela and talked about the enrollment process, which runs from June 9 to 13.

Local leaders, Mayor Elizalde G. Pueyo, SB Member Fe V. Tobias, SB Member Patrick Anthony Tobias, and Barangay Captain Jerry Duero, said they will continue to support the school so that all children can learn in a safe and happy place.

Mrs. Marivic C. Hubag, PTA President, thanked everyone for helping CCES by giving their time, effort, and donations.

With this initiative, it is hoped that CCES will become better and brighter for the incoming school year. 🌟
